We had the most incredible experience at Rancho Luna Lobos, and I can't recommend it enough! My daughters, ages 8 and 12, had an absolute blast learning about the amazing sled dogs and their stories. The whole experience was so educational and heartwarming — the team took the time to explain how they rescue and train the dogs, which was fascinating for all of us. It was clear that they really care about their dogs, their mission, and their community.
The girls were especially excited to meet the dogs and hear about the sled dog race team. They loved hearing how each dog has its own personality and role within the team — it made the whole experience feel personal and meaningful.
A huge shoutout to Fernando and Dana, the amazing owners, who truly make this place special. They’ve created an environment where every dog can thrive, and their passion for the work they do is so inspiring. Fernando and Dana’s storytelling is absolutely captivating. They shared the deeper meaning behind dog sledding — how they believe it’s not just a sport, but a work of art. They explained that, just like in a masterpiece, every piece has to work together perfectly — both musher and dog, sharing the effort, synchronizing their movements. It's a beautiful metaphor that really resonated with us and made the whole experience feel so much more profound.
It’s clear that for Fernando and Dana, dog sledding is about more than just the thrill of the ride. It’s about harmony, partnership, and respect — and it shows in how they care for their dogs and share their knowledge with visitors. Their dedication and vision are contagious, and we left Rancho Luna Lobos with full hearts, feeling like we had witnessed something truly special.
If you’re looking for a unique, educational, and memorable experience while in the Park City, Utah area, this is definitely a place to consider. The combination of adventure, education, and compassion made it a highlight of our trip. My daughters are still talking about the dogs and the stories we learned.
Thank you, Fernando, Dana, and the whole team at Rancho Luna Lobos, for creating such a magical experience! Gino, Ash, Poppy, and Ruah Molfino (Ellicott...
Read moreWe boarded our 14-month old Siberian Husky, Bella, at Rancho Luna Lobos for a couple days between Christmas and New Year's. We had visited them 2 years ago for the sledding experience and already knew and trusted them. We had to contact them last minute since our dog sitter fell through, but Dana and Fernando were so accommodating and responsive. This was our first time leaving Bella with someone else and we knew this would be a better experience than traditional boarding. We were right! Bella gets anxious about us leaving but Dana assured us they could handle it. Within 5 minutes of our arrival, it seemed both Bella's and our nervousness dissipated as Lilly, our favorite dog from our first visit here, immediately took Bella under her wing and they began playing. As we said our goodbyes, it was clear all the dogs accepted her and she was already part of the pack. Bella made so many friends, had lots of space to run and play in the snow, and a cozy cottage to rest. When we picked her up, Dana gave us a report on how Bella did and it was clear that she received awesome care from everyone (dogs and humans!) involved. Bella was excited to see us but sad to leave. This was such a unique and fulfilling boarding experience for her, and we will definitely board her here...
Read moreI cannot say enough great things about Rancho Luna! The entire experience was something my family will never forget! You begin by meeting some of the dogs and learning about the ranch. 80% of the dogs are rescues and ALL of the proceeds from the tours goes right back to the dogs. That alone was enough to have me book with them. My son was nervous about the dogs and the staff were so incredibly patient with him. They brought out their therapy dog and by the end of the tour he was best buddies with all the dogs! After hearing about the ranch, you hike up to see the kennels. The dogs are so excited because they know it’s almost time to go! Before you know it you’re off sledding with the dogs! It was breathtaking going up the mountain. A bit of warning- if you are helping to mush, it’s a workout but an experience you’ll never forget. The staff at the Ranch truly care about the dogs and you can see it in the way to speak about them and to them. We are so grateful for this experience and highly recommend it! Final tip- use the bathroom before you go. They only have a “honey bucket” aka porta potty and it...
