Underwood & Sons Grocery — Local services in Hillsborough

During my teenage years I was very troubled and homeless. I was living in a school bus in a field in the winter time down the road from the store. Your grandparents gave me bread bologna and cheese once a day for weeks. I was and still am grateful for her kindness. I was actually at work yesterday and a lady I was taking care of had the last name Underwood and I was instantly flooded with memories. I now am back in my hometown in Florida. I was telling my husband about it and he looked up the store and here I am. I’m happily married, graduated from college in the top of my class and have two beautiful children. May have not happened for me if I wasnt blessed with kindness like hers. So glad to see the store is still there and you’re carrying on her big heart. God bless you and your family. The reviews make it clear that this is a beloved institution run by lovely folks - but this is less grocery and more convenience store. Canned goods, dim light, a cooler of gently aging produce, beer and cigarettes.
