I called to inquire about purchasing crabs. I drove from Hinesville to get the crabs. A *former employee walked in AFTER me but proceeded to walk behind the counter and into the kitchen area. An employee was assisting a customer and stated that another employee would be in to assist me shortly. When the next employee came to the counter, the *former employee didnât allow her the opportunity to assist me before asking about the crab trays and took it upon herself to take the three remaining trays out of the cooler that the employee stated were available for purchase (only three pre-sold trays were left). My problem is the fact that a business thatâs based upon first come first serve should be more conscientious about how they conduct business. A former employee shouldnât be able to just walk in off the streets into an establishment, go behind the counter and into the food prep areas and be given preferential treatment over any other customer or customers. She clearly didnât call her order in because she asked ahead of me about the crabs and was granted the opportunity to purchase the last available trays before I could even place my order. Heck, she even bagged them up herself. I politely brought it to the employeeâs attention but she clearly saw nothing wrong with what transpired right before me and seemed oblivious to there being a reason I had a problem. In my frustration I snatched my debit card from the employee (in which I do apologize about) but business is business and when serving the public we should do so with all fairness in mind. Family, friends, and former employees should welcome a business the leisure of treating all of their customers the same and not do something as distasteful as the one in this scenario. She knew she was wrong when she did it because she looked directly at me while she was doing it. I literally called before making the drive and was treated as though my business didnât matter. I was inside the building waiting for service before the *former employee walked in. Iâm writing a review in hopes that future customers wonât encounter similar service (or the lack there of) and if youâre going to give preferential treatment to family, friends, or former employees please do so out of the sight of âregularâ paying customers. (Even if they donât respect your business and customers, you have a duty and...
Read moreI would not leave ONE star but only way I could leave this review! I called this morning and asked for live crabs...told him I DID NOT WANT LITTLE crabs...he said they were usually 25 to 35 a dozen and that their would be a bushel coming in and he'd work me a deal on 3 dozen and that they are usually a mix of sizes...he called to say they were there and that he usually charges 85 for 3 dozen but would sell to me for 75! His name is Manny...I should have known better because I've NEVER met a trustworthy Manny and I've met a few! He already had them in a bag of ice...a black trashbag...I drove 40 minutes for these crabs and they are the SMALLEST CRABS I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! DO NOT BUY CRABS AT THIS PLACE!!! THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST! EVERY single crab in the bag was a baby!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE! I know LOT'S OF people in Shelman's Bluff and I will be SURE to spread...
Read moreI stopped here last Friday (05/31/24) in a party of six. It was 28 minutes before closing and they said they'd only prepare fried food at that point. Odd but fair enough, it's Friday. I ordered the fried snapper with fries. I only ate the snapper and it tasted fine in the moment but within 30 minutes I started feeling uneasy, and after about 1.5 hours I started a series of violent vomiting and diarrhea that lasted well into the evening. It was the worst bout of food poisoning that I've ever encountered. No one else in my party of six ate snapper and nobody else got sick. We all had our own serving of...
