I am only giving Hiram one star because I have to. This school has done nothing but push me away from a successful future. They told me I would be eligible for a handful of jobs after graduating, and yet no job has given me a position because my education is not what they are looking for. When I confronted Hiram about my experience, they basically said “it is was it is”. Then when going through Hiram career services, the staff members show me the worst job opportunities. They do not take my preferences into consideration at all. The professors are a joke- I felt they were not truly prepared to teach the courses and would ramble on for hours. I took the same course twice, but under two different names so Hiram could charge me twice. Hiram is definitely for profit (even though Hiram says otherwise). I was in the partnership program which means we were not Hiram’s top priority. By my second semester, I was told by my counselor that the program I was in was being taken out of the partnership program. After the announcement, I noticed the quality of my education tank. I had the same professor for most of my courses- the professor did not really know what they were talking about. A Hiram official openly admitted that my program did not have quality professors for my program, but yet the courses were still taught anyways, and Hiram took my money without hesitation. This college has definitely destroyed my idea that college helps you get far in life. My whole Hiram experience has been an absolute nightmare. My degree is completely useless- within two years of graduating, I cannot get any level of job (entry level, internship, requires a bachelor’s degree, etc.) I apply for because the companies I have interest in and jobs I was told I was qualified for do not want my educational background. Save your money and stay with your community college and get a certification. My community college was significantly better than Hiram- my community college actually cared about me, wanted me to succeed in life, and did not charge me an outrageous amount of money for courses. Hiram takes advantage of their students in every way possible. Overall, Hiram is an unprofessional institution and charges way too much for a glorified high...
Read moreI went on a field trip here for a college visit. Location is nice if you like small town with lots of woods. You could walk the entire campus in 15min, it's so small. I don't like to judge a college by a few students or staff, but I had multiple run-ins with completely rude people. As if they didn't even want to be there or didn't even want to be bothered with others. That's perfectly fine, because they won't deal with me whatsoever. I'd want a college with more opportunities and action. It was so bland there. Hopefully we just came on a slow day. Because if that's how the college is...
Read moreRating only our experience at a softball game. The male fans were beyond rude and disrespectful. Despite the announcement prior to the start of every game regarding good sportsmanship, these "fans" didn't adhere to said "rules", nor did they care. Every fan should cheer for their team, but no fan should harass the players of the opposing team. What's worse, Hiram's coach, who we learned is also the athletic director, let it go on. Hiram has an excellent softball team, but they should be ashamed. Horrible. The fans & the coach get a zero star rating, but 1 star is the lowest...
