We went on a Saturday. Not much to do between 9-10 except shop the booths. We have a toddler so that wasn’t what we wanted to do. Next year we’ll come a little later, but not too much to at least get close parking. You could bring a stroller or wagon, but with a walking toddler we didn’t find it necessary. The Lil Cowboy/Cowgirl contest was cute, only to be outdone of course by the ever hilarious Mutton Busting. Mutton Busting was 40 minutes behind schedule, so unfortunately we had to leave for nap time before being able to see the Pee Wee Rodeo. It was very laid back and everyone was very friendly. Note though the bleachers to watch the Mutton Busting had no backing, which I didn’t think about until we got to the top… had to hold on to our toddler the whole time to make sure he didn’t crawl down and fall through the opening. Also had to be sure not to loose any snacks or water bottles. Next time we’ll try to sit lower. We didn’t eat the BBQ and we regret it- it smelled delicious. Definitely learned to be more relaxed, come a little later, and plan to eat! Will also try the carnival rides if we can swing it with nap time. It was...
Read moreWill say this place is decently priced better than the Houston rodeo…. Although I will say I wish they had more picnic tables available around the stage where performers perform. I loved the VIP concept as well there by stage. Drinks decently priced again better than HSLR. There are staff in red golf carts taking people to gate so no one walks for free that I thought was pretty cool. I will go again and bring my own lawn chair as that was clearly a thing there. Another reason for minus one star is because out of all the times and days available the porta potty company decided that was a great role to clean out the potty’s while performance taking place on stage. It was horrible smell and windy at that. Someone could have definitely coordinated that better. There’s not a map of where is what nor signs so that definitely would have been helpful. Kids at the from scanning tickets actually not paying attention and people were just waking in and I was a little bothered as I paid and it wasn’t observed by any...
Read moreAlways love coming here as it just feels like home. We were so blessed that they allowed us to use the venue to host our Alumni Santa Fe Strong Benefit on July 15th. Each and every board member and volunteer are a joy to work with. They truly care about their communities and county as a whole. I know that they also hosted a few other benefits in memory and honor of those effected by the shooting at Santa Fe High School. It means the world to me that they have worked with so many organizations and businesses to bring unity to a town who is still trying to put the pieces back together. If you ever need a place to host any kind of event, Julie is a Godsend! She will work with you every step of the way and even recommend other great places of you are in need of supplies or rentals. Plus, it really is so much better than the Houston Rodeo because it has that hometown feel but the same amount of excitement and great experience...
