Even in between seasons, the Audubon Center at Fields Pond is a beautiful and peaceful spot to explore. The trails offer a variety of views—woodlands, wetlands, and open fields—and you’re almost guaranteed to spot birds no matter the time of year. It’s a great place to take a slow walk, listen to the wind in the trees, and enjoy nature’s quieter moments. The staff and signage are helpful for learning more about the area’s ecology, and the whole place feels well-loved and well-maintained. A perfect local gem for anyone looking to reconnect with the outdoors.

Haven't been here since I was in grade school. Had a lot of fun hiking the Ravine, Fern, and Marsh trails with my boys (we almost took the big loop, but that would have been a bit too much. We even saw a Lobster mushroom! We'll be coming back in the future when the center is open as well

Wonderful little site. Lots of good short hikes and just full of birds and butterflies of all sorts with photo ops galore. There's even a sizable pond for those hardy souls who fancy a swim and a visitor centre with a very good selection of field guides and other books.

I grew up in Orrington and the trails have become something amazing over the years. This is still one of my most favorite places to hike and it's very easy terrain. The Lakeshore Trail used to be my favorite but I don't like that the gate is closed in the Brewer Lake side so you cannot enter through there anymore by the dam. It always made it so enjoyable to go from the pond and the lake but the trails are still absolutely fantastic regardless, you can look for frogs, birds and learn about animal tracks here. I do believe this is somehow intertwined with the Hart Farm traail system but I haven't actually figured it out yet. There are picnic tables by the Audobon Society building parking lot. This is a great place to spend a little time or a...

This is a nice park, good birding, connects up with a newer park for long hikes. Loons summer in the lake, swallows and woodcock populate the meadow. Please remember to stay on trail, don't bring dogs, and take out whatever you take in and nothing more. This diverse landscape, in a relatively small space, deserves our...
