Great for adults and children alike.
Pros Phelps County Fair is free to get in but you would need to pay for food, rides, rodeo or derby. Variety of activities including face-painting, balloon art, golf, bingo, trampolines, carnival rides, rodeo, derby, etc. Variety of exhibits including baked goods, livestock, plants, models, art, crafts, etc. There were also different tractors on display. Musical performers are available some nights so you can go sit and listen Vendor booths were in the Ag Center that included different organizations and businesses. Food options included Dairy Queen, a couple food trucks and food that 4H was selling. The food available was good and the prices varied. There is parking at the Ag Center parking lot, in the grass field east of the parking lot or south of the rodeo, or on the side of the road (Sherman or 2nd). Bull-Riding and Mutton-Busting in an arena small enough that every seat gets you a good view of the action. Derby has more bleachers than the rodeo but every seat is still in a good location to see the vehicles. There are also more food options at the derby.
Cons No designated smoking area and even though we moved seats a few times it didn't seem to matter. Left the derby early with a headache from the smell (strangely, the fumes from the cars never bother me). So if you've got asthma, allergies, a sensory processing disorder, or children just be mindful. There are no stairs for the bleachers which makes it difficult sometimes to climb through people to reach a seat. Funnel cakes. There were no...

They would throw a squealing pig into a barrel once they got it from the mud slop. Maybe we should do the same with people. That would be funny. Sorry about the dark turn, but you...
