A long review, but the experience was so good I felt it was justified. I recently took a trip to Branson for a weekend getaway and decided to book with Buffalo Ridge for a Saturday morning tee time to get a good round of golf in. Coming from Houston, Tx I was excited to get a change of scenery and some hills due to Houston just being flat and not many hills with our golf courses. Turns out that the day we got to Branson the temperature decided to drop to sub 30 degrees, and while excited for the round I decided to not cancel my tee time. My original time was booked for 10:10am so we arrived around 9:30 and saw the driving range covered in snow. The gentleman at the pro shop said it would be about 11:30 before they got the course going. So we left to grab some coffee and then came back around the time. The pro shop was actually not charging rider fees that day because of the miserably cold weather (which saved $45) which I thought was pretty cool. Because it was so cold, I only got to hit a few balls on the driving range but the grass was as pure as the course itself. By the time we got ready to tee off, the Marshall(I believe his name was Doug), even drove my group of 2 to the 10th tee because they were trying to get multiple groups going because of the slow start. I’ve never had a Marshall be so nice and helpful to a few guys who had just never played that course before. Moving on to the course itself, ridiculously good views and even better playing conditions. The course was difficult, but not too difficult that an average golfer couldn’t go enjoy the layout. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were as nice as you could hope for a golf course and the bunkers were like hitting balls right off a beach. Despite the cold weather and late tee off because of snow, it was one of the best golfing experiences I’ve ever had. Oh and they gave free Bison dogs at the turn. S/O to big cedar for making a trip from Houston worth it and I can’t wait to make it back and play the...
Read moreAs an avid golfer, Buffalo Ridge was probably my favorite course to play of the three 18 hole courses available at Big Cedar. It didnt have the views of Ozark and certainly not Payne's, but it did have some holes with beautiful views. The water features are Amazing and it has an old school western town type of feel. The water features are very much in play on many holes. The bison that you can see from various holes are a very neat addition to the atmosphere. The facilities are excellent, as to be expected based on the others we visited. The practice range is amazing as well. The course itself is immaculate. Fairways, greens, and tee boxes were all excellent and the landscaping is also immaculate. It amazed me that when we played all three courses we did not see one weed, piece of crab grass, burnt spot, or damaged area. Bunkers were on par with the other courses and filled with nice sand that you could actually play out of. THE GREENS were by far the fastest of the three 18 hole courses. If you didn't land the ball in the right place on the green you could pay a price. For the most part they did hold pretty well and the ball always rolled true on puts. It wasn't a situation where you would land on the front of the green and it would bounce and roll off. Accuracy was a premium playing here which dedicated golfers really appreciate. We loved it. If you're playing it for the first time I would highly recommend taking a caddy. It will help with target lines on some blind holes and definitely with the approaches.
The staff were Amazing as were all courses and really seem to enjoy their jobs. What an epic experience and we cant...
Read moreBeen coming down on golf trips with 15 others for the last 4 years and getting a tee time in advance was never an issue until this year. Now we have a house reserved (which we cant get a refund) and no tee times can be scheduled. I have tried and tried to get someone to work with me but have gotten nowhere. Unfortunately next year it appears we are going to have to find a new destination as getting tee times has become nearly impossible to book in advance. With Covid, we were not sure what would be open, not to mention renting a house is safer for everyone, but if you do that, then you can't book more than 30 days out. I just have to wonder how one is supposed to schedule a golf trip if they have to wait until the last minute to book tee times. Like I said, there used to be nothing but helpful people but now it seems that isn't then case anymore. Very frustrating.
I would be more inclined to come back if you could assist us with scheduling tee times for Aug. It isn't that there aren't tee times available the issue is that we can't book them for another 6 weeks and at that point they could be gone by then. Telling us to come back next year isn't offering much support and on promises that we will once again run into the same issue. Like I stated, we have a house already rented that we cannot get a refund on. We have rounds booked at Ledgestone and Branson Hills but still have 3 days we need to fill. Can you please help expedite this issue so that we have secured tee times? Any help to a resolution would be greatly...
