Beautiful Venue - Day of Was Unfortunate
Ashery Lane Farm is absolutely beautiful—truly spectacular, stunning, and perfect in every regard. The grounds and venue are breathtaking, and it created the perfect backdrop for our wedding.
The food was delicious and our guests still haven’t stopped raving about it. We chose the pesto gnocchi for our vegetarians, chicken breast miso, and shaved beef—every dish was incredible. Our two-tier white chocolate raspberry wedding cake was exactly what we envisioned. It was so good, I wish we could eat it every day.
We also had some wonderful staff who went above and beyond. Our suite assistant, Maureen, was kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. One of the bartenders, Bre, was sweet, engaging, and fantastic with our guests. And our planner, Krista DeCauter, was a true professional throughout the entire process—knowledgeable, responsive, and incredibly reliable. Working with her was a highlight, and I’m so grateful for her guidance.
Unfortunately, our experience on the actual wedding day was disappointing. The manager on duty, Kristy, was extremely rude and unprofessional. Less than 45 minutes before I was set to walk down the aisle, she stormed into my bridal suite and demanded I tell her "what I wanted," despite my photographer simply reaching out for clarification. She was condescending, dismissive, and unpleasant—not only to me, but also to my photographer, DJ, mother-in-law, bridesmaids, and even my groom. No bride should have to deal with that kind of treatment on their wedding day.
There were also several organizational issues:
The venue misplaced multiple table number signs we had been told were available, leaving us with crumpled paper and misaligned numbers in frames that looked unpolished.
The place cards we had carefully set on the head table were removed, causing unnecessary confusion.
The guest book table, memorial table, seating chart, and cake table were not set up as we had arranged.
Our dogs, who were with us for photos, were shut inside the bridal suite with the door locked. No one initially knew the code, and it took nearly 10 minutes of listening to my dog cry before someone could help.
Leading up to the wedding, our experience at Ashery Lane was amazing, and I truly wanted to love everything about it. But the day-of staff (with the exception of Maureen, Bre, and Krista) left us feeling like our special day was handled transactionally, with little care for the personal touches we had worked so hard to plan.
Ashery Lane is a gorgeous venue with outstanding food and some truly great people on staff. But I sincerely hope they address the issues with professionalism and organization, because no couple spending so much on their wedding day should have to endure the kind of treatment and avoidable...
Read moreAshery Lane Farm was the perfect venue for our winter wedding! From the moment we stepped onto the property for the tour, the venue blew us away with the beautiful infrastructure that was thoughtfully decorated and the grounds were gorgeous with so many unique spots for photo opportunities! Krista was amazing at helping us plan out our perfect wedding at Ashery Lane! She is knowledgeable, patient and kind. She walked us through every aspect of our day and ensured every detail was what we wanted. She also helped us understand the costs with catering and assisted us with solutions to have an elegant wedding on a budget. On the day of our wedding, staff were so friendly and helpful and made the day run smoothly while also blending into the background! If there were any hiccups with set up or food, I have no idea because Ashery Lane Staff were calm and collected through the whole event. The venue required little decoration because the barns themselves are absolutely gorgeous. I loved that tables, chairs, tablecloths, and cutlery were included and set up and taken down by staff. The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready and hanging out in the morning, while tucked away from arriving guests. The only thing I wish had been different would be that there was no storage area to store reception decor that we wanted tucked away during the ceremony, we ended up putting that stuff alongside the backside of the barn outside, where there is a decent awning and luckily it wasn’t windy or snowing so nothing got wet. Otherwise, we loved that there were two separate barns for the ceremony/reception and cocktail hour, which allowed people to comfortably mingle while staff flipped the big barn into the reception set up. With the reception set up, we still had plenty of room for a dance floor and DJ set up. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and love that this gorgeous venue was the backdrop for our special day! And we loved that they are dog friendly and our dog was able to be our...
Read moreWedding venue review (from bridal party perspective):
PROS: the barns have A/C which is great on summer days with a lot of people BEAUTIFUL venue overall food was amazing nice to have the ceremony and reception next to each other
CONS: the coordinator could’ve been a little more available for questions during the big day weren’t able to connect to the speakers in the bridal suite (we had our own playlist) layout of the venue is fairly large and is probably best suited for parties of 200+
Recommendations/Notes: -there should be a binder or note sheet with information for the wedding party that included contact information for the coordinator, passcode to the iPad and door lock for the bridal suite, and a map of the grounds and/or buildings with what is available to guests -the bridal suite is located in the cocktail barn, which is great since it is also on the first floor, however, if we wanted to move anything to a secure location during the reception we would’ve had to bring everything over to the grooms suite on the second floor in the reception building. If there was a 1st floor secure space in the reception building that would’ve saved a lot of running back and forth to the bridal suite where all our stuff was located. the sound/acoustics in the reception barn make it very difficult to hear the DJ talking if there is music playing. The speeches after dinner were fine but any additional music reverberates throughout the large space and makes it difficult to hear the DJ speaking. because there is an outdoor space with games and photo ops, this space is best suited for parties of 200+ so that there can be a decent number of people between the dance floor, outdoors and inside. What seemed to happen with a smaller party than that was a lot of people went out to play the games and no one was out on the...
