My wife and i visited this beautiful place as a part of our honeymoon adventure and all i can say is unbelievable!! This is a truly eye opening experience that we both enjoyed very much. At first when we showed up and saw the bush planes that were taking us to see the bears, we were a little skeptical. But im telling you those pilots REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! They reassured us that we were safe and if we needed anything just to let them know they are glad to help. Before we even landed on the beach we could see bears on the flatlands, instantly we started to get even more excited. As we got out of the planes the guide rounded us up and made a gameplan as to how we were going about to see these beautiful animals. He too reassured us that if we stayed with him and followed what he said we were going to be safe. This wasnt any ordinary guide. This guide made sure that we were to respect the bears, respect the land that we were walking on and to keep our distance so we didn’t disturb or suprise these bears, because we were on their home turf not on ours. This was truly amazing to see these animals in their natural habitat and truly amazing to see how much the guide and pilots cared about these animals. An Alaska MUST DO! We are so happy we chose this company over any other. They really have their priorities straight with safety first, respect of nature and the bears second, and an amazing experience as the best for last! From the moment you walk in, Tom greets you and makes you feel welcome and excited for your day. Our guides Daniel, Steve, and Myla were all incredible: very knowledgeable, great personalities to be around, and always used the best judgement to keep us safe but still pretty close to the bears. We really enjoyed that this tour had us walking around the beautiful landscape rather than just statically viewing from a platform. This allowed us to see several bears and cubs digging for clams, running through water, and in marshy fields. 5 hours felt like the perfect amount of time. The flight views were just breathtaking, so it certainly didn’t feel like wasted travel time. If you’re on the fence, just do it! It’s been my favorite part of my Alaska trip so far. Thank you...

Lamento ir en contra del resto de reseñas pero no puedo más que calificar con una estrella dado que nuestro tour se canceló una hora antes bajo pretexto de las condiciones climáticas. Obviamente no soy quien para poner en duda las razones de la empresa para cancelar unilaterlamente el servicio y menos cuando se trata de seguridad.. sin embargo, el hecho de cancelar una hora antes (por email) no me parece lo más profesional posible. De verdad no había previsión meteorológica fiable el día anterior? Había que apurar tanto para tomar esa decisión? Lo que más duele es no poder cumplir el sueño de viajar a Katmai pero si al menos hubiéramos podido saberlo el día anterior no habríamos hecho un viaje tan largo desde Denali en coche para llegar a dormir a Homer para el tour.. y además del peligro de la carretera y del gasto de gasolina y hotel (unos 500 dolares sólo para llegar y dormir - lo que hay que sumar la vuelta a anchorage..), habríamos podido destinar esos 2 días a replanificar nuestro tiempo en Alaska haciendo otra cosa. Insisto, lo que más nos duele es no haber podido hacer ese viaje cuando TODO nuestro viaje a Alaska giraba en torno a este tour, pero a la imposibilidad de realizar nuestro sueño se suma el no haber tenido una mínima explicación y recibir un simple email una hora y media antes (y un whatsapp al que por cierto contestamos y no obtuvimos ninguna respuesta..). Creo que para que una empresa se considere seria y profesional debe tener un mínimo de empatía y entender que cuando unos clientes realizan un esfuerzo tan grande para realizar con ellos un sueño, al menos merecen un trato distinto y más humano. No sólo se trata de un gasto importante en el propio tour, sino que se hace un esfuerzo muy grande viajando desde España con la ilusión depositada en la compañía y a cambio se obtiene un frío email y una puerta cerrada sin mayor explicación que la reiterada “condición climática”. La decepción es muy grande y no sólo por no haber podido volar, porque insisto, si las condiciones no lo permiten, es totalmente entendible (aunque el resto de compañías sí estaban volando….), sino por el trato 0 empático recibido. Pensaba llevarme las mejores fotos y recuerdos de mi vida y en cambio me llevo esta triste foto que adjunto. (He de decir que una chica llamada Ava, al menos se dignó a venir a la verja de la compañía a darme la noticia en persona dado que hemos acudido al punto de encuentro a la hora acordada. Además me han comentado que, lógicamente harán un reembolso completo.. pero, aunque esto no es sólo dinero, el reembolso se hace sobre la excursión pagado lógicamente a la compañía pero no se tiene en cuenta el viaje desde Europa, el coche de alquiler, los hoteles y gasolina que se usaron para poder llegar...
