I rate 5 starts for the egregious acts of violence i bore witness to.
I entered the store as I would normally and started to gather the items i needed. Shortly after a man in fully back with a mask entered the store with a large metal bat in hand. The man the walked to the cashier and demanded money threatening violence if his demand were not met. I then saw no less then 4 men (employees) enter from the employees only area in the back and make their way over to the man. The robber continued to threaten the group, however this ended poorly as the 4 employees approached and ripped the bat from the robber's hands. They then attacked the robber with his own bat and beat him relentlessly for at least 30 seconds before dragging the robber outside to the garbage cans. They then cussed out and beat the robber for another minute or so, until the robber was unable to move by himself. Then picked up the robber and placed him in the garbage, shut the lid, and locked the bin. The employees returned to work after cleaning the large amount of blood they left from the beating. The employees then rang me up and I left.
All in all great experience, and I can firmly say I will NEVER attempt to rob ANY 711. (Not the I intended to, please don't...
Read moreI appreciate the cashier taking his duties diligently however I had gotten my ID right before I turned 21 and haven't renewed it for a horizontal ID since it didn't matter where I was living at the time.
Now I'm back home on the island I was born and raised due to abrupt changes.
The cashier was a jerk about it even though I tried to explain my situation, I really needed a drink to just chill out since I haven't been able to for the past two weeks I got here.
So thanks, cashier guy who said he was from New York. Your sense of aloha...
Read moreThey Didn't accept my ID. Clerks said they only accept HI state ID and passport. What?! I don't carry my passport around, and only HI state customers can buy? That smells like discrimination! My non-HI driver's license has been accepted everywhere else, but not here.
TIP: Visit Aloha Island Mart on Keahole st. - no discrimination there.
Ps.: write "only HI state IDs or Passport accepted" on a sign, Richard, and save non-locals from wasting time in line. Thanks.
Really strange rule for an International...
