This trail was a little on the scary side for me. The trail was narrow, slippery dirt, lots of rock, roots in the trail. Lots of steep drop offs. Not good for young children and not handicap accessible. Loved the wind at the top. I started around 5am on 7/17/18 and there was no wind till I got to the top. I saw one person going up and 5 people on my descent. Also saw a woodpecker, a pheasant or something like it and heard very close elk rutting sounds, but didn't see them. I parked on wind mtn road.

Beautiful view! It took us about 1.5 hr to hike this including breaks for pictures and breathers.. worth the effort for the view! We only passed two sets of hikers on the way down.

The view at the top is breathtaking. Definitely worth the incline.

What an incredible view. The hike is pretty straight up, we started from the middle but you can start from the bottom which is more rigorous. Once you get to the top, if you take a left there are two seats made of stones with a perfect view of the western gorge. It's incredible, I higgghly recommend this hike to anyone willing to hurt a little for a fantastic...

I really liked this hike! I have read in some places that it is a family friendly hike, but it might be too steep for young kids, going just over 1000 ft in elevation gain in just over a mile. The end point does offer amazing views of the Columbia and The Gorge in either direction, so that's definitely something to...
