Canine Country Club — Local services in Hooper

CCC was recommended to me by a lot of people. Website makes experience seem very over promising. Not a fit for my dogs and my personality. I am fully aware my dogs (just turned one year old) are not socialized nor extremely well mannered. I did disclose that in the online booking, called the owner to talk about it, and also verbalized it when I dropped them off for their first ever visit at any type of boarding facility. Utilized doggie day care as a trial run. Glad I did. Found out it was not a fit. Place was clean and the high school help did the best job they could. Owner was more worried about having to pay her staff extra for staying past noon waiting for me to arrange someone to pick up the pups or keep them until I got off of work since they did not respond well to the environment. Would not recommend them at all! When we went to pick up our dog, we were told that he chewed up his bed, so they threw it out. When we asked to speak to the owner about it, as we would have appreciated it if they had at least talked to us first before just throwing it out, she became incredibly hostile with us and accused us of saying they stole from us. She would not listen or treat us with courtesy. She even made a snide remark about whether our check was going to clear or not (and this after years of us being loyal customers who paid on time every time.) Upon further investigation at home, we discovered that only half of the 10 days worth of carefully measured food we provided for our dog's 9 day stay was used. His coat (normally very shiny and soft) was dull and coarse, and his halter was loose. He definitely lost weight while there. Our poor puppy was starving while in their care! Canine Country Club is great! My dog boards there and every time we get near the facility he barks with joy! He is well feed and cared for, and if he is having a bad day or his tummy hurts the employees are always there to cheer him up and get him feeling better! Every time he gets home from boarding he smells amazing from his bath. He loves to interact with other dogs and get lots of attention from the helpful employees. Since he has been going there since he’s been a pup the employees know him very well and he is always excited to play with them and give them kisses.
