I’ve had repeated, deeply unpleasant experiences pretty much every single time I’ve gone to this store. I’ve been living in Hope for three months now, and I still get glared at and ignored by the staff here, and treated like an interloper. I’m lucky if the cashier working at any given time actually responds verbally after a transaction when I thank them and wish them a good day - generally I get a cold stare in return.
In addition to being treated like absolute dirt, they overcharge by about a dollar for pretty much every item they sell, which isn’t too pleasant, and have a lackluster and stale selection of snacks. And their pizza is poor to mediocre if you’re lucky enough to get a fresh slice, and absolutely inedible after it’s been sitting out for an hour or longer under the heat lamp - which it usually has been.
If you live in the area, do yourself a massive favor and go to the Mic Mac Store a few miles down the road - the people are nicer and the prices are more reasonable. If you’re driving by this place, just keep going and stop somewhere else. If you want pizza, drive a few miles further to The Common House of Pizza in union - it’s cheaper and infinitely...
Read moreThis Store is Awesome! The morning coffee selection is great, better than most big city stores and coffee shops. The breakfast sandwiches are pretty darn good as well, they have some freshly made options ready to grab and go, or you can get one made to order. The menu is great and they have a ton of available food options. The store also carries an array of prepackaged goods and general grocery items. They do a great job keeping it stocked and full, fresh as well. Doesn’t have that small town general store feel, where the Oreo shelf is always empty and the Gatorade orders never get fulfilled. Owners were great people and super accommodating. This would be my Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner spot if I lived...
Read moreA favorite general store of mine. Hope General, and the town of Hope in general, sure live up to their name. I always hope my travels take me near this place, especially at lunchtime, so I can get some of their terrific pizza! The coffee is always hot, and fresh baked goods are very tasty and plentiful. Locally crafted items, beverages and snacks plus all the usual general store items (ie - a little bit of everything) round out the selection here. Downtown Hope always makes me smile too, there are nice folks and solar panels everywhere... always reminds me of that song: 'Just give me some hope!' Sometimes I (unconsciously) start singing it when I get near this store and when I get there, I'm...
