Dollar General — Local services in Horn Lake

As I was checking out in this store yesterday, the store manager was verbally berating an employee the entire time I was checking out and even as I was leaving. She was not reprimanding her, she was abusing her.

This young lady broke my heart. I wanted to intervene so badly, but I didn’t want to make it worse. The manager was going off on her over and over and over again about self check out beer purchase that didn’t even involve the employee. That’s what was so absurd.

I watched this young lady stand there and respectfully try to explain that she had nothing to do with the transaction, and the employee actually knew the solution. I was about to melt. I took my purchases and left very rattled.

The amount of pressure exerted on these store employees to operate these entire stores by themselves is ridiculous. This store has been closed twice in the last couple of days because they couldn’t stock...

The staff working tonight 10/26/24 might have just saved my life. I went in to get one thing and I still browsed some aisles because it’s what I always do. Gotta see the latest and greatest. Anyway, I went to check out and Lex (the girl at the register) and another young guy (I forgot to ask for his name) asked me if there was a guy with me. I said no and they proceeded to tell me that this older man had been following me around the store and watching me. I’m usually good about picking up on this kind of stuff so I was shocked. Absolutely disgusting staff. Showed up 15 min before close and they refused to open the door. Just looked at me and shook their heads. Nasty, rude people. I needed medicine desperately for my kid, and it was the closest place and I drove 20 min to get there from the country of Eudora. They do not deserve jobs. I hope the same thing happens to them when they’re in desperate need of something. Atleast acknowledge someone and tell me to come in quickly and grab...
