Hepler's Country Store — Local services in Horton Township

My wife and I stopped by Hepler’s for the first time to see what this small-town county store was all about a few weeks ago. Two things really stood out. 1. The shoe and boot inventory was huge. I should point out that the inventory is geared to outdoor types of shoes and boots. 2. If you are a Carhartt fan this is a place to check out. I decided it was worth the hour drive, because of the large inventory, to go back to Helper’s and purchase a new pair of hiking shoes. I had an idea of what I wanted and when I told them what I was interested in they told me the first thing to do would be to get my feet measured then try it on. After trying it on I was asked numerous questions about the fit and feel of the shoe. In addition, I felt the person measuring my feet really knew what they were doing, not just going through the motions. At checkout I was surprised to learn Hepler’s offers a substantial discount for the retail or online prices. Bottom line – large inventory, one on one customer service, great prices. Well worth...

I was "yondering" through the area to see what I could and I wanted a dose of local color so I stopped in. Boy Howdy! That was a great decision! Not only was the feel of the place inviting, the staff made me feel like a local. They were so helpful and full of information. Angel brought me up to speed with the local history while Miranda worked up a hand written list of "must see places" in PA. The store is full of high quality outdoor wearing apparel and footwear. It also has a great section of cooking supplies and dry goods. We are going to have a blast with the large selection of cookie cutters I purchased for the grand-kids! After 6 years I decided to give them another try. Called about a week ago and ordered shoes and I was told about a week and a half, which was right on. Went in today to pick them up and the service was great, everyone was very friendly and helpful above and beyond. I was extremly happy with the quality products and the entire staff.
