Breshear's Nursery & Greenhouse — Local services in Hot Springs

I have talked to people from this business twice over the phone and met once in person. The people have been friendly and helpful. Five star for just being good to talk places with. I needed very specific cultivars of two plants- my yard gems, as I might add. Not only did they have these specific cultivars, and knew all about them, but the prices were good. Breshears absolutely pummeled the online prices. Online prices couldn't even touch this place so I bought almost everything he had of the one plant. He has the highly coveted Gardenia too! Not just Gardenia but the Dwarf Radicans Gardenias, as well as the Gardenia Jasminoides that you see at most places, but he also had two others! One was a more frequent bloomer. OMG, right? The second was a more hardy plant that he wasn't sure blooms as well. Both of these are new cultivars and you're not going to find them easily as of the date of writing. I have looked everywhere just for the Gardenia Radicans and come up with nothing but here he has them and quite a few. Also, the box stores carry a very limited selection of pots. Oh no, not this place. No no no. Pots of every size and style! As for the selection of plants, I would argue that it was excellent. The people here seem to know what works well for this area and what can make a yard or garden really pop. After working hard myself to learn about plants, I can recognize even with my novice perspective and limited scope that these are expert curators. You may not need to go anywhere else. I regret my online purchases now after seeing this place. Go here first, really. I would label this place a medium sized nursery which really packs in expertly chosen plants that will have the maximum impact on your yard or garden- my yard is going to be the best...

I have purchased numerous items from this nursery and try to patronize local family businesses but these people don’t make it easy. The older woman completely ignores me like I’m not even there. On one visit when I had finally obtained her attention after waiting nearly 10 minutes and I began to ask her the question I wanted to ask so that I could decide which apple tree I wanted to buy, she walked away from me mid-sentence to talk to another customer. I immediately left and bought a tree at a nursery in Benton. Sometimes there is a very young boy there who is literally the most attentive and courteous young man I’ve had the pleasure to encounter. Everyone else, though, has terrible customer service. Today I stopped by to see if they had diotematious earth and, once again, she completely ignored me like I wasn’t even there. I guess I’ll go to Lowe’s in Hot Springs. I will likely opt to drive by this business in the future. I think there is a nursery up on Hwy 7 that I will...

I love this place. The owners are really knowledgeable about their plants. They are very friendly too. I love going here and getting advice. You pay a barely more than chain stores but they have such a wide variety of plants. It is worth it to pay the little extra and get great gardening advice that the folks at the chain stores don't take the time to give you. My yard has never looked better since shopping here.
