Our icemaker stopped working and Chuck was at the top of the list for appliance repairs. After reading the first few reviews I decided he was the guy I wanted for this job. I was thrilled to see he opened early but when I called at 7:29 AM I got a message that said he returns calls within an hour, or upon completion of the job that he's working on. I left my name, address, phone number and brief description of the problem. Six hours later, nothing. That must be some job he's working on. I'm happy his business is doing so well, even when my poor old icemaker isn't. I had no choice but to pester Chuck or call someone else, so I choose the latter and got someone who'll come out tomorrow and repair/replace the icemaker. I'm a little disappointed, though, from the lack of response from Chuck. Reading those reviews, I expected better. EDIT: Chuck edited his response which was originally posted around 10 AM on THURSDAY morning, so I believe I'll update mine, too. Chuck claims he returned my call once he was "caught up", and that is a lie. He sent me a rambling text yesterday morning asking me to delete my review. He claims that he wants unsolicited reviews and criticized his competitors for posting fake reviews. My review is unsolicited but it's not what Chuck wants to hear, and that's the only reason he texted me, I guess. He mentioned about how busy he was and the charity work that he did. But the bottom line is that he had time to post his initial response to this review on Thursday and follow it up with a new response, and a text to my cell, on Friday, yet he couldn't be bothered to call me on Wednesday because he had COMMERCIAL ice makers to repair. So much for doing the job "with professionalism". I know that job paid more than my little job would have but he still could have called and said he wasn't interested. I guess he's too important for that. So here's my reply to your text, Chuck: I'm not deleting my review. You advertise a service and you ignored me. Potential customers should know that.
EDIT2: I see Chuckles is still commenting on my post and saying we've "never met". We never met, Einstein, because you didn't return my call. All I got from you, besides your whining here, was a text asking me to delete my review of your business. I wish I could give you negative stars, Chuckie. It'd still be more than...
Read moreMy refrigerator stopped Cooling and I called Chuck. You made it about 5:30 and told me I had a loose wire since the compressor did kick back on. Charge me $100. The next day it had stopped cooling again and it was the weekend I had contacted him via text Sunday and Monday but he did not reply until Monday almost 1. When I mentioned I was not expecting to another service call he went into a long winded reply about his 30 years experience HVAC certified and that he should have made it more clear what he charges which is $150 a service call. He told me I was first on his list and did not make it until after hours again And he told me that I was his last call. He told me he was replacing the ends of the wires on the thermostat and hope that that would fix it without a big expense. He actually trips the breaker doing that. 2 days later he text me to ask if the refrigerator is working correctly. And I responded no it was not. And he did not respond until 2 Days Later when I messaged him that his App Store payment has requested another hundred dollars from me. He did respond then to say that it's my control panel and it would be $175 and 20 minutes to fix it. I called Sears to come out and by the way they only charge $89 service fee. Sears told me that there was no reason for the wires to be cut. all Chuck did was extend them he spliced the wires and used electrical tape no Wing nuts. I'm a single woman in a large home and I feel as though Chuck just took advantage. ** In response to Chucks response..Name calling? False accusations? How unprofessional can he get? I don't know about beating anything, accept myself for ever calling this guy.I requested a refund of the $100.00 he charged me. When I told him I got a second opinion, and what they said, he AGAIN went into his years experience, etc. And if he heard anything else about this he would send me another bill. Then he blocked me.I have many texts to prove this. I am not going to argue with this man on a review, everyone has their side of the story. I will let the readers...
Read moreI first attempted to contact Chuck on 8/1/19, I left a message with no returned response. I tried again at 9am on 8/5/19 and he answered an said he was so busy he couldn't return calls, but scheduled me for that afternoon at 3pm "sharp" I live out of town so I set everything thing up with my neighbor and gave him the contact info so he could let her know if anything change. Well 3pm came and went and no Chuck. I finally texted and called at 5:35 pm with no response I followed up this morning 8/6/19 with a text, no response. So, I had to contact another company to take care of my issue. I'm not saying Chuck does bad work, I wouldn't know. I will say he has bad business practices. As a service manager myself, I couldn't stay in business this way. But if you have all you need there is no need to maintain good business practices.
Side note, I notice every bad review on here leads to a snarky and rude response from Chuck. I would be happy to post my phone records and text string as proof that this is a 100% accurate review.
Edit in response to Chuck normal snarky reply. We discussed this is a Lake home and I would have a neighbor to meet you and no payment discussion was had. When I gave you a bill to address you could have responded with a message that you are too small time to invoice. The person meeting you there would have made payment at that time. When you are not going to make an appointment for any reason good business practice is to notify that person. You don't know me, so the reference "people like you" is completely uncalled for, and intentionally degrading. Way to hide behind your keyboard big guy.. As previously stated I do not know anything about your work. By your reviews I can assume you do a good job. That is why I called you. However, your business and people skills are what I rate a 1 star. Those are things I can see and rate. Thank you for proving my entire rating to be...
