I have a passion for old general stores and merchant shops, Gap Mercantile is no exception. The owner talked with us as we were old friends, offering tid bits of the goings on. Her husband keeps the store well stocked with vintage items ranging from books to tools. There is a beautiful selection of quilts and linens too. For the kiddos you'll find a shelves with games, small toys, and penny candy. For those hot summer days there is an ice cream cooler...

We were so sad that the store was closed for the holidays when we came through to visit. We will have to come back again to see the inside! But, it just so happened this amazing truck pulled up in front of the store while we were getting ready to head out and he gave me the ok to get a picture of him! It just fit perfect. I'm not sure if he was the owner or worked at the store or was just a traveler through, but we liked how he looked...
