This experience was great for the 1st hour but our float trip did a complete 180 afterwards. The website is extremely misleading and the directions they gave us was âyouâll see 2 bridges and youâll go about 150 yards till you see our sign.â That was not how it went. There were 2 forks, and for one of them, on the path leading right, it led us to a place where the water was so low that we had to WALK all of our floats and coolers to the other side to get back to floating. However, none of us knew this at all because we were only aware of two bridges to look out for. It would have been nice to have some type of warning or signage.
The website was also misleading with saying that it was a beginner course. That was not true. A few of us went to this for the first time and we thought it would be a beginner course. However, they didnât advise that the water was extremely low or anything. The water was so shallow that every time we went over rapids, the rocks and tree branches hit our butts and backs from how rough and low the water was. We have so many bruises and scratches. There was one specific rapid that made all of us flip over and had 2 of us almost drown. We even noticed everyone behind us flipped over and people had dogs and kids. Donât go to Luckyâs and if you do, be careful and see if the water is low. They wonât tell you anything about low water or even give you tips about...
Read moreThis place was awesome. Super polite employees. One in particular, Heath, who shuttled the small school bus to the drop off point about 5 miles away. Super funny and awesome guy, made the ride up fun and showed us what hospitality really is. The river was awesome. Shallow enough to get out and swim off our kayaks or pull up to a bank and explore. Our trip took us 6 hours because we took our time and stopped a lot, we had planned on making a day or it. There was one rapid that flipped us but it was all very mild and easy to stand up if you do. There were a few bumps and scratches along the way, always expected when in nature. Can't control the elements. The spot to get out was easily seen with a yellow sign and bank with other kayaks and canoes. I will say this for the entire kayaking businesses around here, make sure you get out early enough or call in advance because despite every kayak rental service having 6-8pm closing hours posted on Google, they closed early the first two days of our trip and we couldn't do our trip on the river until the last day at Lucky's after two other places had already closed at noon. Other than that, we had a blast. Every employee we encountered was so nice and we will be...
Read moreThis place was terrible.. the customer service advised this was great for a beginners float trip and they were very wrong. We were on the "trip" for 6 hours because we weren't advised how bad certain areas were. I understand nature is nature but at some point some signs should be put up showing you where to go. The pick up spot was not visible at all. It was a tiny yellow hand written sign nailed to a tree. To get out of the water you had to go up a steep muddy hill. We were the last people on the river so the guys helping were already angry to have been there for so long. We had lots of cuts and bruises from where the rocks and trees hit us. I couple of us almost drowned. Please be careful when going here especially if you have little ones because these waters were not kind. I was so thankful to be on that...
