Unruly: mobile hair stylists — Local services in Howard

I booked my daughter’s braiding appointment through Unruly about a week in advance. While the booking process itself was a little tricky at first—I actually had to call for assistance—I am so glad I did because everything that followed exceeded my expectations.

Khouri was absolutely amazing with my daughter. She arrived right on time and kept in constant communication with me, letting me know when she was on the way, what supplies she preferred, and even sharing her favorite brands. She is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and also one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met—her gentle voice and calm demeanor immediately put us both at ease.

The service itself was excellent. My daughter chose basic box braids, and Khouri’s work was immaculate. Her parting was precise, the braids were uniform in size and length, and the finished style looked perfect. What impressed me even more was how gentle she was—my daughter is usually tender-headed, but this time she sat through the entire two-hour appointment without a single complaint.

They are so unserious. I had to reach out to them about an appointment that I booked with less than 24 hours to spare before the appointment time yet my appointment was still pending. I found out that the stylist was in a whole different part of the city which means she couldn’t accept the appointment but why was her books open if she’s not available? Why wasn’t the appointment canceled if she’s not available? You have the option to accept your appointment so why wasn’t it canceled? Was my appointment ignored? I saw another opening for two days later and I said that if I can’t get my original timeslot then I’ll take that instead. I was told they would hold it. Somehow within 20 to 30 minutes that timeslot didn’t exist so they didn’t have anybody to do my hair. I canceled my appointment because I don’t have time for that shit. They have a lot of work as a natural hair competitor of Glamsquad and Priv. They are overpriced to be so unreliable and I don’t think their pricing is as transparent as it could be. They are also vague. It’s a lot left to be desired from the site and faqs. They don’t even have how many packs of hair you need for...

This service is a game changer! I have been using Yeluchi for several hair appointments now, and it is so nice to 1. not have to wait in the salon for your appointment to start, which should've started 30 min ago. 2. Not get stuck under the heater, while you see you stylist start someone else's hair. 3. Be in the comfort of your own home and space, should your appointment last longer than expected. 4. Work with stylist that cares for the health of your hair and edges! Bottomline, this service is great if you need a new style for the day or night, or you want to try something new. I've never used Yeluchi for the maintenance of my hair (ie deep conditions, trims, etc), and not sure if they offer that service, however if you need a new style or braids - they are great...
