Dollar General — Local services in Hudson

Ok, I don’t just 5 stars, as nothing is perfect. But I am doing so to offset some petty individuals here. When you are complaining about corporate policy and not individual store issues.

Over all the store is clean and nice and well stocked for our small town. Employees have always been friendly and welcoming. The store will not have EVERYTHING a lager store will have. So if you don’t see something request it! Giving a one star review of the store for not carrying something you want is a bit petty. The store likely does bot make the decision, and until they know what the area wants, will not cary the items. Show them there is a demand and they will likely stock it. But again may not due to other commitments. It’s about the bottom line.

The store is clean and organized. Some employees are friendly but unfortunately my last 3 visits have been not the best. I've had to ring bell 3 or 4 times, a couple of employees do not say anything to you up at the counter, not a thank you. Today I went in and the guy looked completely out of it and too high to function. One time the employee walked outside on her phone and I was waiting for 10 minutes to be checked out and decided to leave. I know all things can't be perfect, but I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and I can't imagine the kind of trouble I would get...

Shout out to employee Ericka! She was our guardian angel the other night when we had trouble and pulled over off the interstate! She helped us so much and it is wonderful that in 2024, someone was willing to do something outside of their job description, just to be a nice person! If i am ever in Hudson again, this would be where i would stop for all of my snacks or needed items...
