Wellspring Multi-Service Center — Local services in Hull

This is a great organization that is really helpful and beneficial for the town and surrounding communities. During my time attending the school at wellspring I have had many mixed feelings. The teacher was extremely inconsiderate, rude, and extremely unprofessional. She couldn’t care less about creating a positive learning style that confronts all learning styles. She teaches with only packets of work and can’t even assist us without the answer key. (Shows how intelligent she is) I witnessed a classmate struggling with extreme distress because she wasn’t able to learn the way that teacher taught because she needed help 1 on 1 and a lot more explaining and hands on work. Most of the work that I have done is the same curriculum I was taught throughout elementary and middle school. One time I overheard a worker Julie, and the teacher talking about how I looked high as a kite, and am probably smoking at the beach. In reality I was actually at Cumberland farms buying coffee. It’s obvious that they were really judgmental towards me and just prayed on my downfall. I’ve never heard such a unprofessional conversation between school staff in my life. I still completed all my work, and participated well. The teacher is also extremely unempathetic, and inconsiderate of those with personal lives. Which makes me question why such an impatient, and careless person worked in a hiset program with students who face a variety of struggles. When I told her I wasn’t able to complete the homework she goes “well you texted me in the morning asking and you could t do it. I was like I was asking earlier in the day before I had to work 7 hours. And she goes well now your behind 3 weeks of work idk how you expect to pass the test. And I was like well I already learned most of this in middle school so I feel like I have a very good shot at passing. She goes well everyone else here that works full time was able to do it. I said tell them I said congratulations. Tom is a great director though, and the drivers are excellent. Julie once came in talking about how she’s scared about is going to become communist if trump wins meanwhile she can’t even name a single country that practices the ideals of a classless society, and instead went on to talk about another useless, corporate corrupt politician who wants to raise retirement age, kill social security, and claims America was never a racist country. Regardless of how immature, snobby, and stuck up both of these two people are I am still grateful to have had the opportunity to get my diploma in a much more faster, and convenient way and the school is set up...

I had heard stories of how they weren’t actually there to help the community but didn’t believe it. I reached out a week ago to set up an appointment and was clear about what was happening. I told them I needed legal advice and help finding services available to me to be able to move out as I’m being evicted. I came in a week later to be told the attorney is on leave. I was then told help takes time so they can’t do anything. The woman who runs it eluded at I was simply there looking for a handout when she told me they “don’t just have unlimited money we can give to people who contact us.” I had never once asked about being provided money. I was asking about housing help, options, and any resources. I was told “your options are move to Taunton where you can afford to live or work more hours to stay in Hull.” I pointed out I work three jobs already and if I moved to Taunton I would lose all of those jobs and not be able to afford anything. I was then told to either find a new job or call a homeless shelter. She at one point dropped how she’s lived in Hull for 25 years which felt so tactless and uncaring. The empathy for someone sobbing in front of her trying to get help was non existent. I’m disgusted that they’re even operating. They are not there for you if you need help so don’t bother. This whole thing could have been handled in an email by saying there was nothing they could do to help me but instead I lost a week of trying to get assistance and left more scared than I went in. She sent me spiraling to the point I had a massive anxiety attack...

They claim they will help but they only judge. The pantry has ridiculous hours. Ppl who have to work 40+ hours a week to barely survive can't get to the pantry. Pantry hours are Mon, Wed and Fri 845am to 12pm. How is anyone who actually works supposed to get there during these terrible hours? Their "Lawyer" doesn't help either. They ask for bank statements and other information about ur family, then they judge u and deny. Wellspring doesn't like my landlord and I know that's part of the reason. They don't do partial payments to help but if u get an eviction notice you get eliminated from Champ. So how can u get help? This is the 3rd time they turned me down. I know so many other ppl from Hull who isn't their type of ppl who got denied. They only help out their own....
