Windmill Point is the historical name for this location now known as Pemberton Point located at the tip of the Nantasket Peninsula.
This was known as Windmill Point since the 1820s, named for windmills that were originally used to pump seawater to be used for harvesting salt. The salt would then be used to pack fish.
In the 1980s the town installed a 40-kilowatt wind turbine on Windmill Point, next to Hull High School which operated until 1997 when it was damaged beyond repair in a windstorm.

You could also sit in your car and watch it all if you're not feeling like a walk on the shore. It's a wide strip so I'm guessing even when there are a lot of people, it will be easy to practice distancing. We didn't see a lot of people around so it is a good idea to visit this place, especially these days when going out isn't without a lot of anxiety.
