As a 5 year member and previous coach at this gym, itâs unfortunate to see the standards slip. There are some truly wonderful people at this gym. However, profits over people seems to be the ownership motto these days. The programming and community used to be the main appeal, but community events are more sparse now and the programming lacks direction. Many people are simply unwilling to speak their opinion for the lack of receptivity.
Respect was a core tenant years ago, however, personal equipment is now sometimes mistreated or damaged or stolen, membership pauses or cancellations were always unpleasant the handle with ownership and not transparent. There is a lack of consistency with rules such as working out in open gym during class times, which was allowed for some people, but not others. The favoritism and clique aspect of this is divisive to an otherwise wonderful community.
CrossFit 926 is a place I want to love, but struggle to do so anymore. Again, there are some incredible people here, but where I once felt like a member of something I felt like a customer when I left. I sincerely hope that the gym becomes as wonderful as it once was and the feedback is taken to heart that not everyone has a great experience.
There are two separate gyms within the gym, Spark is looked down on compared to CrossFit which drives a wedge within the community. The workouts are incredibly hard and taxing, but perceived as less than barbell work. The programming is varied and lets individuals that want to work out for a full hour do so. The CrossFit workouts on average took up 37/60 minutes available which isnât efficient.
For $2340 a year, itâs hard to justify broken equipment and a lack of honorable values and respect towards individuals outside âthe foldâ from ownership. I hope one day to see the gym get back to its roots and regain what made it an...
Read moreI canât say enough good things about this community of people and coaches who build each other up and help you succeed in your goals! I never thought I would do CrossFit...ever...but after looking for a place to help me get strong and back into shape and lose weight after having two kiddos, all signs and recommendations from others pointed me here to CrossFit926. I felt right at home from day 1. In the four months Iâve been going, I have made big strides in mobility (I couldnât do a burpee when I first started!) and lost 5.5% body fat, with the help of nutrition counseling, also available through Stephanie, one of the coaches. All the coaches are committed to helping you keep proper form and have an intuitive balance of pushing you out of your comfort zone just the right amount. I really appreciate the team here and the community of people who are always encouraging. Iâll never forget being the last person to complete a shuttle run with a 20lb. slam ball and on my last run, one of the other ladies in my class who had already finished, picked up a slam ball herself and ran the last leg of the trip with me, encouraging me to finish strong the whole way. If youâre looking for a great workout with a great community and fantastic coaching, this...
Read moreMy teenagers have been attending this gym for the past three years, and it has been an incredibly positive influence on their lives. Not only have they learned proper techniques and training methods, but theyâve also grown as individualsâthanks to the example set by the staff and members. This gym fosters a culture of friendly competition, genuine encouragement, and being truly happy for others when they reach their goals.
The sense of community here is remarkable. The people who own, work at, and attend the gym clearly care about one another. The range of offeringsâincluding CrossFit, Spark classes, childcare, teen classes, kids camps, and the Cub Clubâshow that theyâre committed to serving every age and fitness level.
One example that really stands out: my son was competing at a CrossFit event out of state, and one of the coaches made the tripânot to compete, but simply to support and encourage him. That kind of dedication is rare. Iâve had a few great coaches in my life, and I still remember to this day. I know my teens will carry the lessons and support theyâve received here with them for...
