Eagle Bluff Golf Club — Local services in Hurley

Overall, this is more like a 3.5 than a 4 at the moment, but since I can't do half stars, I'll bump it and here's why:

If you contrast this course today vs. two years ago, it has improved vastly. All the greens are now impeccable, albeit on the slower side, whereas years ago there were bare dirt spots all over many greens. The teeboxes are hit or miss, some are still showing the signs of past neglect, others are in good condition.

The fairways are where the course's history is still on display sadly. About a 2/5's of the holes fairways are well defined and good looking, 2/5's are average at best, and then a couple (the worst offender is hole 11), is just bad. Bare spots and muddy ruts all over.

But this course is headed in the right direction, and I cannot fault them for past ownership's disregard for maintenance. The course has some epic elevation changes to contrast with the other local course, and there are 5 par threes, which makes for a bit more exciting round and a bit more variety for all backgrounds.

This was a nice varied course. Cool features and holes across the round.

Hole 1 starts it off with a cool downhill. Hole 4 is a Par 5 with a tee water hazard and a slow uphill. Holes 5, 9, and 10 are all Par 3s with Hole 9 being a super short uphill. There are a lot of generic Par 4s and that’s ok. It all plays fun, the back 9 has a par 5 as well but there are a couple more par 3s located on 16 and 18.

The layout is fairly intuitive for the most part we never felt lost. Fairways were manicured decent and the rough was rough. Walked right in and got out there quick. Cash only but...

Tried this place out - the atmosphere was peaceful and serene apart from the random 4-wheeler that passed us on Hole 10. After that, we noticed the sprinklers were on the green on a SATURDAY at 3:30p! I’ve never seen anything like that at any course. And it wasn’t just one green… every other green had sprinklers on. We decided to just quit and asked for a partial refund. They denied to refund anything. They told us to just, “skip around to different holes.” The men were nice but I mean…really? All and all, course has potential but you might get stiffed. Ended up paying $30...
