Michigan Memorial Funeral Home continuously displays disrespect and a lack of professionalism towards those who choose to place their deceased loved ones on their grounds. The team in their office has displayed a dismissive and condescending attitude towards every family member that has tried to engage with them. Their lack of interest in communication since having put our loved ones in a niche has been baffling considering they were beyond eager to connect when it was to up sell or try to get our family to purchase something at the beginning of this process, but ever since they have cashed our check, they are not interest in providing even minimal customer service or care.
Todayβs incident was really what finally pushed me to leaving a poor review. In memory of my parents our family decided to purchase a $7,500 bench from Michigan Memorial. The contract states that the bench is our property numerous times. I visit weekly to clean the bench and replace flowers at my parentsβ niche. This week on Thursday, October19th I was shocked to see that two statutes that were securely glued to the bench (which again is our property) had been removed. I proceeded to call the team at Michigan Memorial and was told that their maintenance staff had removed them but was given no clarity as to why. I was told if I wanted to speak to maintenance, I would need to come in person to speak to them, because they didnβt have a phone number to contact them.
As instructed, I returned in-person today to obtain clarity as to why the statutes were removed. I was directed to speak with Sean Bradley who was condescending and disrespectful during our entire interaction. He began by questioning how I knew their maintenance team had removed the statutes and I had to inform him that his own co-worker had disclosed that it was their team who had removed the statutes. From there he proceeded to say that I could speak to John who oversees maintenance about the situation, but that he was of today, so heβd take my number and have John call me. John was in fact not off today because I stopped to chat with a maintenance crew as I was leaving the property and they informed me not only was John there but that they would get him so he could speak to me. Not only was Sean disrespectful he also lied.
John the maintenance manager and his team were the only employees I have interacted with that were professional and apologetic about the situation. John found the statutes and assured me he would have one of his crew members reattach them today. He also stated that what happened is not allowed and should not have happened.
If youβre considering Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, please reconsider. They will be eager to help at the onset but once they are paid, they will be dismissive and disrespectful even when they...
Β Β Β Read moreJacob and the rest of staff are very caring, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. We've lived in canton for 10 years. Not familiar with this part of the state, I could not find a Catholic cemetary that I really liked and that got good reviews. My daughter's in-laws told me about Memorial. They have everything all in one place. My son and I went there and were able to plan my husband's entire funeral in a couple hours. The funeral home is beautiful. The florist is right there. We got the Army casket, Black lacquer with gold fixtures. The Army logo was inside the lid. A huge cemetary with 40+ sections. There is even sections that are concentrated for Catholics. We had a beautiful military funeral for my husband. His flag draped casket was taken to the gravesite by horse drawn caisson. The costs were reasonable too. Very patriotic cemetary. Everyone, including his Army buddies thought Michigan Memorial Park was military cemetary because of all the flags everywhere. Many people just go there to walk and ride bikes because it is so large, beautiful...
Β Β Β Read moreI wanted to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Steve Shelton and the staff at Michigan Memorial Cemetery. During some of the most difficult times for our family Steve has made sure that our requests were taken care of and our questions answered. The staff here is very compassionate and kind. We have felt like members of the same family and our loss was also their loss. Several members of my family and my husbands family have been laid to rest here. Each time that we have laid a loved one to rest the attention received to each detail has been remarkable. Recently my husbands twin brother passed. The marker arrived at the cemetery two days before his burial. Steve Shelton and Lois made sure that his marker was installed at the grave site before his burial. There is a beautiful chapel here that I go to. I sit and listen to the water from the fountain and reminisce. I couldn't imagine going...
