J and J Sales — Local services in Huron Township

Well this would be a book so I'm going to boil it down for you. I set up businesses for a living so this is definitely objective to help you improve so you do not make the same mistakes on someone else. First off the positive. Scott in sales was great. Good deal on the 24' Manitau. Here is the bad Do not get one of the trailers in the deal. Trailer is junk due to how cheaply they are made and the products used. I have used my 4 times and have had to replace the trailer jack as it came apart not where it mounts to the trailer but at the cylinder where it goes up and down. There fix give me another just like it so another piece of junk which I gave it back and bought a decent one for $30.00 more than the one installed. Glad you could save $30.00 on a 6K trailer. The carpet covering the wood guides has ripped and torn on both sides from putting it on the trailer that has only been used 4 times. The carpet is cheep and wasn't glued down as I am told this is standard installation. So something else I have to fix on a brand new 6K Trailer. Now to the boat When talking to sales I asked if they had installation for after market parts. This is where he should have said yes for simple installation not yes we do everything. Let's just keep it civil and leave it there cause here is where the book starts. After several 3 hour trips to this location to get things relatively right it now seems to be working right . So moral of the story. Good boat prices, trailers suck, easy after market install ok. Overall these are good people but they need training when doing extensive electrical or different supervision for quality control. As the boat should have never left the shop before it was right. I called to inquire if they still had in stock a Honda scooter I saw on cycle trader. I was told a salesperson would have to call me back. Not really sure why the person answering the phone couldn't go to the floor to look, but that's neither here nor there. I made the male receptionist aware that I was driving from Michigan about 2 hours away and waned to pick the bike up today, so to please have someone call. After I called back 3 more times, (should've just followed my gut at point) I finally spoke to someone as I was about 30 minutes away. He informed me they did still have the bike. Good news you'd think, right? Eh, not so much. I got there and was told the moped wasn't ready. The guy says to me, "yeah, I heard you were coming from Detroit." Which was not true. Was that presumed because of my race, not really sure? But I certainly don't live in Detroit, nor did I ever mention that city. Long story short, I was not able to leave purchasing the moped as they were about to close in half an hour and told me it would take them 4 hours to get the moped ready. Not sure If I was lied to that the moped wasn't ready, because I left there and purchased two from another dealer and they loaded them up in my SUV the same day. (after all, they're scooters) One can only assume they did not want to sell this moped to me intentionally. I am an owner of a company, and surely if my company operated like this one, id be out of business. This was a remarkably poor experience from beginning to end and no one had forward thinking skills at all. I assume they retrieve business in this area because there is no competition. Buyer Beware! I'm very skeptical about salesman after all I used to be one. And after reading the reviews on Google and seeing all the negative ones I was very hesitant to go to this place but they had the used Jetski that I wanted and the only one I could afford at the time so I took a chance. Let me make something clear... the negative people on here are all whiners and complainers. They are used to salesman that will kiss your butt and budge on price even though it makes no sense to and it's already as low as they can realistically go. These guys do not go out of their way to bring you flowers as soon as you walk in the door but they are very straightforward and fair and I can truly appreciate that. Did they budge on the price of my JetSki at all, no but was it already extremely well priced, yes! But of course I had to try… Not only are they extremely knowledgeable about what they sell but you can tell they are a good local establishment as most of the people in that place seem to be family or friends or family. If you don't need a massage or 20 cups of coffee when you go to buy something go to this place. If you want the other type of experience then go to some car dealership. Overall I think these guys were great to work with. I plan on going back to them in the future. I just wish they were closer to where I live. So overall what I am saying is despite all the negative reviews give these guys a chance. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I know I wasn't.
