Generators Plus Co. — Local services in Ida Township

This started as a 1 star review due to the service received verses what was told to me from a phone rep setting up service, which did not match when the tech got on sight. They called said I was due for service, I agreed asked for a tune up service which I asked for filters, plugs, and oil change and normal maintenance. The lady on the phone said something about a silver plan, or one with monitoring. I said I really just need a tune up with the things I asked for. She said that is what they did last year. The Rep came out, did oil change and tuning, said the filter was clean so he did not change?, but did not change plugs, said that was an "extra service". He ended up leaving without saying a word. I called the office and asked for the owner to call me back so I could discuss my situation. A lady, Shannon called me back and said the owner was busy and how could she help. They sent out another Tech, Anthony a service manager we were told, to finish the job within a few days. Anthony was not very pleasant to my wife and said if they did what was asked for, the service would cost us $600?? I can't comprehend the 2 spark plugs would add $400 to the visit, but that is what he said. He was curt, but did change the 2 spark plugs, and cleaned the oil from the spillage from the ground from the previous technician. I cannot share enough superlatives to tell you my disappointment in the scam of a company. I called generators Plus to come and service my generator that was less than 2 years old that work perfectly fine until they're arrival when they decided it had to be moved to begin with, which after confirming with two other companies and the building official of my Township by generac should have never been moved with piping etc... added and they could never get it working once they had moved the unit however they did cash my check for their services and have never come back to remedy the problem that they clearly caused

It's been going on two years now and I felt the need to leave this review to warn any further customer or future consumer of this company scam of cashing your funds without rendering a service and leaving you with a product that they clearly have destroyed.

The fact that I had to leave one star to get on the board here is almost as frustrating as my thoughts and feelings regarding this company. As I'm a business owner myself I felt the need to reach out to shared my experience as I will be leaving reviews with the BBB as well as Yelp Google and any other source to spread the word about how this company takes your money cash is your checks and then does not return any phone calls or remedy the service that they were hired...

If I could give zero stars I would. But, that’s not an option. My husband and I had decided it would be a good idea to get a whole house generator as we live in a high water zone on a well. A few problems would occur without power. Our basement would flood because our sump pump is constantly running and we would have no water in the house since we are on a well. So we contacted generators plus to get this done. We have it installed and we were pretty pleased with the results. Then comes the inspection from the township. WE FAILED INSPECTION. The generator is too close to the window. Since the failed inspection my husband has made several calls and has been told on every occasion that someone will return his phone call. And we have received NO PHONE CALL BACK. Now, we have our service light on. We have zero faith in this company to even call for service. With the generator being so close to the window has now put me and my family in danger. I’m sacred once we actually have to use the generator that we could be subjected to carbon monoxide. We are at a complete loss...
