Boy I hate coming here with a dry van load of garbage cardboard. The fact that you’re treated like a 6th grader to finally get back to the unload area and then have to deal with the enlarged ego is a big turn off for me. He apparently likes to go off script from instruction sheet handed out when checking in. Arrived today 6/13/25 @ 5:45am for a 6am Appt unlike last visit probably a year ago, lane #2 at Receiving Dock appeared closed with a handful of different sized orange cones set out . In my world that means dock isn’t being used or is broken. I received nothing but a hard time and negativity on why I didn’t back into it once I backed into Dock # 1. No communication or signs to say otherwise. Handout instructions say to stay in your truck while waiting to get to unloading docks. The arrogant person that was running his mouth and dock seemed unhelpful and had a big chip on his shoulder towards me. Just a few feet further past flatbed cage was where I waited and no attempt to get off his butt to either move orange cones or let me know Lane#2 was available until we argued about it, then he cleared a couple of the cones I guess to cover his butt. Good job slim shady! I always have issues with how I’m treated here(especially with this individual at receiving dock). Unfriendliness he strives for. Unfortunately no professionalism exists at the receiving docks only someone who wants to make your time there difficult as if it’s not difficult enough already. So be warned and enter at your own risk. Once you read the instruction sheet toss almost half of what it says aside cause when you finally get back to receiving docks most all instructions go out the window and the contact person will “not” be helpful or hospitable . Lazy and demeaning come to mind ,unprofessional to the max. Once he gets done beating you down and lets you back up you will have to surrender your keys and wait in the small 2seat/ room concrete office. Don’t try and take down any straps or cargo bars from inside your trailer, that’s not allowed. Mr Personality has to do that (it’s one of the things not mentioned anywhere like backing down a lane with a handful of orange cones set out). Don’t be surprised when you get yelled at, a lot of hidden rules here. A couple of porta potties for bathroom facilities along route and absolutely no overnighting. I hope to not return any time soon as my efforts go unappreciated. The ungrateful experience I endured today duplicates my last visit approximately a year ago. I departed today @ 8:53am and couldn’t leave fast enough. If you’re into being treated immaturely and having to bring your crystal ball to know what Dock is open or closed or like being insulted by big egos this is the place for you. Oh , by the way, watch out for broken glass after unload. This is not clean cardboard by any means. Watched a flatbed driver wearing shorts undo his straps inside yellow cage area so certain rules only apply to certain people it appears. Guess it’s more productive to give a driver doing the right thing a hard time than correcting one breaking the rules.? Unloader got a little rough with clamp on forklift and left 3 nice gouges on inside panel of my trailer. Beware of the...
Read moreLots of Safety rules don’t bother me, as a trucker that is my first concern and it’s their property. The guard was professional and helpful, got a dock right away but dock worker Darlene was not qualified, made a simple procedure much more complicated than needed. Disrespectful, bad communication, petty and UNSAFE—she does not know how to use hand signals she only whistles and screams and refuses to stand where I can see her. This is very basic safety stuff and I was shocked they allowed her to work with drivers this way. So i stopped backing got out to talk to her but she was hostile, incoherent and just yelled at me some more. Did not understand her but when I asked her about it she got defensive and insulting. Been here dozens of times with absolutely no problems. So tried to GOAL but she would not let me, what? So that made me ask more questions and then she threatened to reject my load, last straw—am an experienced driver, was completely safe, following all rules, making a good effort and not doing anything wrong. Other workers came finally and rescued me from Darlene, they told her to go have a cigarette, I got unloaded very fast, and am making a formal complaint to...
Read morewow! where do i start? check in not bad (not friendly or unfriendly) geting instructions on couple of papers how to do your scale ticket in and out, then how to stop on each stop sign, how not to open your trailer doors with out supervision, how not to go on red light which doesn't switch to green (01apr2024 11am) the best of all was forklift guy running there on his temporary power trip telling everyone what to do ,chemicals from paper production keep him high and less bright ,his alabama accent and actions make him star in his own mind, all who i meet in those 2 1/2 hours unloading appear very very UNHAPPY in that mill, as for drivers they are required give up keys from truck and wait in dirty STINKY sheed now i regrets that i didn't make pictures, so i ask others to do picture of it and those chair's, to bad you can post "yet" smell from inside of waiting are SHAME! only positive that loves in town had half of parking available at 2am but if wind from mill goes over town then you can't escape smell, and of course INTERNATIONAL PAPER doesn't have parking NEVER...
