I've been taking day trips and camping at Guanella Pass for over 30 years. Never again. Went up for the day to find each campsite full of trash, the trails are so terrible and over used, you can't get a camper to the FCFS spaces. People standing on the side of the road or trail with no cognitive thought or common sense to traffic or danger, tons of people RACING their cars and motorcycles up the road and will pass you of you do the speed limit....I stopped at what I thought was a clean campsite to relax with friends only to have my dog find human feces right next to the campsite and tried to eat it and roll in in. People have ruined Colorado and their outdoor space....Zero respect...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite summertime drives in Colorado. During the day, there are elk, deer, mountain goats, big horn sheep and a bunch of other animals to see right from your vehicle. You can hike Mt. Bierstadt or Square top Mountain here. There are waterfalls and deep woods. On a clear night you can la under the milky way and one of the best starry skys that's only a short drive from Denver! I always start from hwy 285 amd drive to i70 in Georgetown. Read more🔆When you think of fall drives and Guanella Pass you may think you'll run into intense boatloads of rental cars that never use their blinker 🙄...but really, it's beauty is an understatement and is full of little trails tucked away to escape the crowds 💛✨. . 🔆Being a short drive from Denver, be sure to check out Boreas Pass in Breckenridge after with a quick stop at the Dam Brewery for some Fantasticcc chilli and a craft brewskiiii . Either place you go to check out the warm yellow hues of autumn, your sure to reset your Sunday stress and start the week off right .
