Lake Carina Fishing Pier — Local services in Illinois

It is not a terrible place by any stretch but I give it a 3 out of 5. It has bathrooms and the pier is nice, a map I saw online said it is about 16 ft deep just off the dock. The path around the old gravel pit turned pond is dirt and gravel/grass, not paved. The deepest spot is on the opposite side of the pond from the dock. I saw saw some dog poo that wasn't cleaned up and it smelled bad around the trail. It was also very loud due to the busy road on the other side of the pond, not to mention all the kayakers for such a small pond. I tried to catch fish while there but little pan fish kept stealing my worms. I'd say there are fish there but not sure if...

Yes it's a small 1 mile trail, yes there are power lines but my dog likes to swim there. You do need to have them leashed when walking but I let my dog 🐕 go in the water to cool off as long as nobody is around. ( he is very well trained) it's a quiet ( except for the highway noise.😄 ) small park for fishing and you can canoe there or kayak. ( no motor propelled watercraft allowed. ) so walk...

A small lake with a walking trail around it. Always feels cool as you walk through bushes on both sides and grass path adds cushion. Few Dog owners do not keep their dogs leashed and they donot pick up after their dogs.. you have to be careful about dog shit scattered throughout...
