In between primitive and commercial camping. A great deal of tree cover and brush, beautiful rolling prairie, and wonderful wildlife habitat. Great ranger/host. Features outhouses and water pump. No other amenities which was as desired. Well planned layout, specified area for tent camping only in a concealed remote location away from vehicle campers. Has a pond, no fish, only turtles. Great first trip...

Lovely place to hike! Varied terrain and mix of some prairie but mostly covered forests of pine, oak, hickory. We hiked the loop suggested by a hiking book (photo with trail in red) and explored the campground also. Cannot wait to come in the fall or come back to camp here. Neat variety of fungus found too! Bring bug spray for sure as the gnats and mosquitos are as plentiful as the...

Went and checked out this park/hiking area this weekend. Little bits of color here and there. The trails have nice little signs to give interesting facts about the plants and the surrounding area as you walk. Lots of birds including a large Turkey Vulture were around. Pretty, natural area, with a couple of shelters and camp areas.
