Purchased a bedroom set from them for my 11 year old son in March 2020 paid cash for it and also purchased the 5 year extended warranty for an extra precaution. My sons bed was NOT sturdy at all and over time the slats broke busting up through the box spring as well, the bed was so horrible the feet holding the bed together completely split in half! In January of 2021 not even a year later I called and let them know the situation and that the bed was completely ruined they told me I had to file a claim with Guardian warranty because the damage to the bed was too much and even though it was still under the 1 year warranty that comes with the purchase they would NOT be able to replace it so I would have to file it under my 5 year warranty. I agreed. This is my 2nd claim I have filed! The first claim was denied because I did not have a picture of the bed before it was damaged! Come on! A picture of the bed before? Ok whatever I file the second time with the help of them manager telling me step my step. Mind you I’ve already sent them these pictures before so I screen shot a few of the pictures and take new ones as well, plus I have my original receipt and all. I file the claim and within 2 days I’m denied again because the pictures I took do not have a bar code! There are no bar codes on the furniture only one place and that’s who made the furniture and because the picture is fuzzy they will not accept IT! They already have the same exact picture and preciously accepted it! Not sure what else to do but steer clear of buying from this place! No one know anything! Also I called today to let them know my claim was one again denied and they said that they actually no longer use Guardian Warranty because they were so difficult to deal with! I asked well can that not help me and switch warranty places since you guys did as a company? She said no unfortunately next time you buy something it will be under a new warranty company so you will just have to continue to deal with Guardian until we can get your claim resolved! Unbelievable! Who can help me with this? New stations? Rafael Sanchez? Help!

When looking for furniture, don't go to the other stores without going here first. My wife and I were shopping around for a kitchen rable with chairs and didn't really like anything we were seeing and if we did like it, it was stupid expensive. She then recommended American Freight. We were greeted by Melissa and she directed us to the tables. We looked at a them and narrowed it down to three choices, ultimately getting a middle height table with some chairs. Not having a huge vehicle, we opted for same day delivery on a Saturday and were not disappointed. The only bad thing I can say about the whole experience is that we had to put the chairs and table together ourselves. We would have had to do that with Ikea anyway, so it really isn't a negative at all! So between the great service Melissa gave us and the new table we have in our kitchen right now, it was a really good experience going to American Freight!

Great place for furniture and mattresses! So much bigger than the store up north, I believe this was their original store. It's huge, but difficult to find. Just follow the signs, because the gps won't get you all the way there. But, it is well worth the search! Great prices, great customer service, financing if you are willing to take a hard pull on your credit , and same or next day delivery. Thanks guys!

When looking for furniture, don't go to the other stores without going here first. Great place for furniture and mattresses! So much bigger than the store up north, I believe this was their original store. It's huge, but difficult to find. Just follow the signs, because the gps won't get you all the way there. But, it is well worth the search! Great prices, great customer service, financing if you are willing to take a hard pull on your credit , and same or next day delivery. Thanks guys!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Ordered a sectional and was quoted 4-6 weeks, that turned into 10+ weeks and ended up never being delivered. Canceled that order. Bought a full size mattress, same company and they tried to overcharge us $100. Had to literally take a picture of the price and show them at the register. Both times I wasn't happy with the service but they took care of it in the end, so for a 3rd time I went back. Purchased a sofa set and they quoted 4 weeks delivery. Surprisingly it was available the same week but had to wait 1 week for delivery, which was ok. On delivery day nearly 4 hrs went by and nobody showed up or called. Called to ask about the hold up since we live in the area and they said they didn't know for sure how long it would be. I asked if we can reschedule since it was getting kinda late and the guy said yes. Calls back 2 min later and says we can't actually have delivery on that day. It'll be another week. I told him I was fine then waiting until 8pm for the sofas to be delivered this day because I didn't want to wait another week and he said OK. Around 730 I called and they still hadn't shown up. I was told that per my request it would be sent next week....on Monday...a day where they don't do deliveries...the manager agreed with me that the delivery date had been changed to a date they don't do deliveries so that wasn't my fault but he seemed to think I was lying when I said I told the employee I would just wait it out with no problems for them to come on this scheduled day. I realize I probably caused confusion by calling and asking about another date for delivery but myself and the employee ended the phone call on the note that I still wanted it delivered on this day, not next week. My husband was present when i was on the phone and is a witness that i stated i would just wait for them on this day. They did say sorry but no minimal discount or coupon or anything at all to compensate me waiting all day for 100% nothing. The manager said he would talk to the employee I spoke to about the mix up but for me it's not about getting someone into trouble. It's the principle of it all. Why was this person allowed to schedule a delivery on a day they don't deliver? Shouldn't a manager check the daily deliveries and make sure everything is on track? Just skip this place if you can. The headache isn't worth their prices at all. As of right now I still don't have...

You need to understand two things before going to American Freight (I assume any of the locations but the one I've dealt with is the south side location),

  1. If you want to purchase furniture there, DO NOT place items on layaway. Their layaway program is just an attempt to get your money and hold it ransom. The items you place on layaway ARE NOT held for you. In fact, this is right in their policy. What's the point of the layaway then? Well, you see, if you leave your money in your layaway account for a month, then no matter what, it is NON-REFUNDABLE. That's right, there is literally no benefit to putting any furniture and money into their layaway program, except for them. So then even if you buy furniture elsewhere or they discontinue your item (Happened to me on 3 seperate items I ordered) YOU ARE STUCK, you have to buy something from them to use the credit. If you want to buy furniture from them, go in with cash-on-hand, that way even if they don't have the item in, you can pay in full and order it and then eventually get it.
  2. They are FREQUENTLY out of items. This wouldn't be so bad, except a lot of times, when they are out of an item, there's no way to tell, the display will probably still be right there on the warehouse floor. No attempt to move these items or flag them (even a simple piece of paper with "Sold out" would do) is made, and you won't know they're out until you get to the register. This goes hand in hand with the first point, in that even if you put something on layaway, and then gather up the money to buy it, they may not have it in for months. Or worse, the item is discontinued. There's no guarantees anywhere, in terms of availability. That all being said, they do have decent prices, and I've had similar experiences at other discount furniture outlets so I'm assuming the availability issue is pretty common with this type of business. However, their policy on layaways is unforgiveable, since in essence you can give them your money for a product that may not even exist in a year when you're ready to buy, and they can keep your money for no reason. My advice? Open a savings account and save up for the furniture, at least you'll get interest and can take out your money. Or better yet, just go to a real...
