Our experience with David Weinstock was amazing. My brother and I went to him with my late father’s gold wedding band, hoping we could make it into two: a minimal gold band for me and a white gold band with a thin gold stripe through it for my brother. His cozy shop nestled in the woods is warm and a little quirky, not unlike David himself. His wife took a break from making gingerbread with the neighbor children to bring us lattes in handmade ceramic mugs during our consultation, and David wrote notes in a hand-bound notebook of what we wanted. The trust we put in him with our dad’s old ring was vast and at times nerve-wracking, but I could tell he understood the gravity of the choice and would take good care of it. Not only did he do an incredible job with the rings, but he recorded a video of the process so we could see the transformation. David has such a pure, artistic soul, and I can’t imagine anyone else having created these rings for us. We ended up having him make my fiancé’s ring as well (not from any existing ring) and it was a joy to get to go back and see him and his workshop.
