Anchor Park (Lake Bowen, Inman, SC) – A Loving Review

Scenic & Family-Friendly Vibes

Nestled along Lake Bowen, Anchor Park is an idyllic destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The park offers a fully fenced playground with two play structures (for younger and older kids), swings, and sensory play equipment—making it a safe, fun, and versatile space for little ones to explore. The paved path wrapping around the playground invites biking, scooting, or even chalk art, while shaded picnic spots and benches allow parents to relax and stay close at hand—all with a lovely lakeside backdrop.

Water Fun: Fishing & Boating Galore

A highlight of Anchor Park is its seamless access to Lake Bowen’s 1,500+ acres of water. Whether you’re into fishing (from rocks, piers, or shore), paddling a kayak or paddleboard, or launching a pontoon or jet ski, there’s something for every aquatic appetite. Boat ramps and a special paddlecraft access point make launches easy, though permits and appropriate registrations are required—starting around $25 for non-powered craft, with motorized boats needing additional registration via the SC Dept. of Natural...

There is a nice little park for kids, and some open areas you can fish from the shoreline. They do provide restrooms to the public, and you've got a couple nearby restaurants to dine at when you've finished your time outdoors. No complaints about the place, just behave yourself and don't do anything that might catch you a visit from the warden, they wont tolerate people on the property or the lake...

Situated near the playground, these areas allow parents to relax while keeping an eye on their children. The park’s clean and well-maintained environment, along with amenities like restrooms and trash receptacles, ensures a pleasant outing. Whether you’re planning a casual lunch or a larger celebration, the picnic facilities at Va-Du-Mar McMillan Park cater to various needs, enhancing the overall...
