Wanted to share my disappointing experience at Links O’ Tryon today. I was excited to bring my out of town family members to the course to spend the day together leading up to Thanksgiving. We are experienced and long time golfers. Our immediate experience was checking in with a highly rude employee (older man, very thick north eastern accent). Right off the bat he had a foul attitude and was combative for no reason. We ignored it and laughed it off. Later, on the course he sought us out to tell us in an extremely rude manner that we were falling behind on the course. I absolutely understand this, however, we were the only group visible on the course so it was uncalled for and especially in his tone. It’s so disappointing that Links O’ Tryon has an employee such as this individual. Our experience otherwise was fine, but unfortunately the takeaway of our experience was our unnecessary encounters with this staff member. We will play a different...
Read moreWent out today because there was a deal I don’t remember but like 20$ for 18 holes which sounded nice. Played here earlier in the year and it was perfectly fine, busy but had fun. Interesting course and not too punishing. But today was just terrible. I get that it’s been raining for like two weeks but right as we get there the guy in the pro shop about tears us a new one telling us to stay on the cart path or else we will have to forfeit the round. Then during the round had a guy in a starter cart watching us the whole front 9 and then he approaches us on 18 saying we didn’t stay on the cart path, (which the only time we left the cart path was to drive in the rough around a mud hole or two). Pretty annoying to feel like we were being attacked on the last hole after we very much respected the course, replacing divots and staying well away from any fairway with our carts. Not sure if everyone is having this experience but those two guys ruined the...
Read moreFinally got to play here. First off kudos to the maintenance crew. Heavy rain all morning and when I teed off at 11:30 not a puddle was to be found. Lovely fairways and greens. The rough and fringe were even manicured to perfection.
Greeted by a friendly pro shop gentleman named John. Didn’t catch the starters name but he was extremely courteous as well.
Club house is beautiful. Feels like a step back in time to a place of class.
Caught up to a single on the back 9 and we played it out together. He’s a member who plays twice a week. He was a pleasure to hit with.
Can’t wait to get...
