I have recently golfed at inverwood and was extremely disappointed. Apparently you have to pay for a rider not a cart. So a cart is 9$ and a rider is 9$ so two people on one cart is 18$. It is a very stupid rule and makes zero since. At any other course you pay for the cart not the riders.
The course is not very good. On the executive it is mostly very short par threes. The pin placement is awful, usually in the very front on the green or on the way left or right of the green. You are basically putting from the fairway. Literally because the greens are slower than Tom Brady’s 40 time. And the tee boxes are ripped up and not taken care of at all.
The staff act like this is the most precious golf course in Minnesota it absolutely is not. Most of the staff are nice people, but some are not. Most the time when you check in for your tee time the check in staff are rude and don’t really care about your experience. During your golf time the course marshal will hunt you down in between holes 6+7 and chew you out about some rule you didn’t follow. There was one employee who checked us in (not name dropping here) but he had a mullet and was in his 20s was extremely disrespectful and total took advantage of us. I would give this course a zero star in service.
Overall would not recommend this golf course. Because of the low quality of course treatment and some very rude and disrespectful staff members. God bless...
Read moreThe course itself does not deserve two stars as this is a fun, challenging course. My issue is with the starter and rangers throughout the course. I have been golfing for 30 years, and have worked at golf courses for 12 years in different roles; I say that as I am no stranger to the need to keep pace of play. Our foursome finished our round in 4 hours and 5 minutes. We teed off 2 minutes late, so I’ll own that. We are all adults and do not need to be chastised about teeing off 120 seconds late from our time. I understand the clock doesn’t lie and we were still late, but it was 9:12 instead of 9:10. The condescending comments from the starter were not needed for four apologetic grown adults. Then on hole 13 we were told to pick up our pace to keep up with the group in front. Mind you, nobody was behind us…so we obliged the ranger’s request and picked up our pace only to run into the group in front of us and end up waiting on every shot for our last six holes, and again NOBODY WAS BEHIND US. In 30 years I have never felt this rushed during a round of golf. This is a municipal course, not Augusta National. These kinds of attitudes from the starter and rangers are without a doubt going to intimidate players new to the game of golf. Not sure I’ll be back if I’m going to be chastised for teeing off two minutes late, and for apparently playing a 4 hour and 5 minute round. Be...
Read moreSounds like these guys' woes are well-known here and on Yelp, so I'm glad I'm not the only bearer of bad news. Long story short, this course just isn't worth the effort. Fun course, which I would usually say equates to me not caring if the staff sucks or not but honestly, they are so rude, inconsiderate and deranged that it makes the course not fun to play at all.
I bought a patron card without second thought last summer because this is one of the closer courses to my house. I golfed there 16 times over the summer and only once - yes ONCE - did I not have any issues with how I was treated. Every other time I regretted buying the patron card but felt like I had to return to get my money's worth. Some things were just small things that left you scratching your head and wondering how you can run a business this way. Other things had lasting impact on me that I tell every golf fan I know of so they avoid this place.
Which is why I'm writing this review. This course is fun, so if you can sneak on and play it without having to deal with anybody in the clubhouse, then go for it! Otherwise there are so many better options around the Twin Cites. You know, courses that actually like having golfers play...
