My girlfriend and I were on our way out to WA and decided to take a break from our travels and stop in and let our dog out. 😆. Not what I was picturing which turned out to be a good surprise! The ladies inside were super nice and fun to talk with. Turned out the welcome center also has a really well put together walking museum! It was so cool to see the technology of yester years and to compare it to what we have now all while reading about the history of the area. Just so happened to have a farmer's market that same day we decided to stick around for. Glad we did too! The locals were just as nice and we enjoyed all our conversations! If you have the chance i highly recommend stopping in and taking a while to stroll through the history they have on display! We will definitely visit again and next time I'll take pictures to go...

Amazing! I enjoyed reading the descriptions of artifacts that someone took the time to type out. And a kids "playground" for our 8 and 7 year olds to stretch their legs. A neat find on our cross-country read trip. We found it because we were looking for the welcome center to use the restroom. It was about 5 miles off the highway and out of our way. But worth it. There is a souvenir store as well hosted by a kind lady, and I saw a sign for their Thursday afternoon...

If you would like to see some history of the area and a fairly large collection of objects of interest then I would recommend making the stop. I'm not sure if they still have the interactive teachings and displays that I remember, but they might.
Parents, let your little ones run around in the miniature Lincoln highway that is on the hill behind the main building. They will burn off some energy and you'll have a nice view of the area and some interesting...
