I'm a long time customer, not a frequent customer. Every time I've walked out with product, I felt happy or peace. Gordon Florist's goal was always to sell the best flowers arranged the best way possible. Today I felt sad. My Mom will be 90 in June. 26 years ago yesterday, we lost my Dad on Mother's Day. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. There was a steady feed of customers. No lines. I inquired about picking out flowers. I was directed to the walk in frig. No question of what I was looking, no offer to assist. I picked out flowers. I asked how much they were. Inquired about vase. I was offered a selection to choose from with the caveat "we dont have time to arrange them, we're too busy"" I had maybe 14 stems. I asked for scissors. When I asked for an opinion on length of stem I was given an answer of "anything is fine". I felt that translated to "you already paid, please go away." In the past, there was always a familiar face offering help. Today felt like a transaction as if in line at Market Basket. Where did the usual kind caring serve from those familiar faces go??
No arranged flowers were offered since there was no interaction on your part prior to me being directed to the refrigerator. What I did see for a price point already arranged (not suggested by you) was $100 and up.. What I purchased was $50, an appropriate size for the small room that my mother has at the Skilled Nursing Facility., and finally allergies. You offered no interaction therefore you gathered no information. This truly was equivalent to checking out at Market Basket. You offered nothing other than wrapping. I come from a time when you picked out and picked up not order blindly online. What I understand is going forward if transactions will be treated as if I'm in line to check out at Market Basket then maybe that's where I should do my...
Read moreI was very disappointed with a recent purchase of flowers at Gordon's. I bought my wife flowers for our anniversary. Within 2 days some of the flowers stems wilted and several of the flowers were clearly dying. I went back yesterday to buy some additional flowers for the vase and mentioned to the two women at the counter what had happened. I got the deadpan look from both and was told we probably didn't get them in water fast enough or they may have been older flowers. Neither were great answers. I responded that we live 7 minutes from Gordon's and they were delivered. The driver handed them to my wife. They didn't have a response. Not the kind of customer service that wowed me! We have done a lot of business over many years with Gordon's. Definitely will be a while before we go back. If anyone has recommendations for local florists, please share.
I want to add to my initial post. Gordon's just delivered my wife a beautiful vase of flowers and an apology note. I'm not sure if they saw my first post or overheard my conversation with the two women. In the end, though, they made it right. That is exceptional service! Thank...
Read moreI drive by every day and have to force myself to not stop in all the time. I am always tempted to buy more plants. Their selection of succulents are phenomenal and all thrive well in my home and at work. I have bought many perennials over the years and all of them happily come back year after year. Prices are very reasonable and the selection is fantastic. Plus, the cat! How this gorgeous creature does not devour the plants is a secret I would like to be let in on. I have to hang all my plants out of reach of our cats. I'll come...
