Decided to make Cod fish sandwiches for dinner while visiting my mom. She suggested to go to Kellums in Kilmarnock. Walked in and asked for a pound and half of fresh Cod to which the gentleman asked what piece she wanted. He grabbed the tray of fish and took it to the back, I could see him putting the tray to his face, which led me to believe he smelled the fish.
We paid a little over $25 and left the establishment. We got home and began to prep the fish. We could immediately smell that the fish was bad/rotten. I tried to call back to inform the man that waited on us that the fish was bad but the business was closed. I will call them tomorrow but wanted to write this review as it was apparent that they knew the fish was bad, he smelled exactly what I smelled when I unwrapped that fish and he still decided to sell me bad seafood. I am highly disappointed in the business and will be asking for a refund.

Read moreI recently joined the crowds of local patrons shopping at the Opening of the new Kellums Farms on Pittmans corner Irvington Rd/Old Salem. Of course their famous local Sea Food was widely displayed with other listed and well sourced fish and seafood varieties, also for sale. Additionally you'll find produce, gifts, ice cream (supplied by Homestead Creamery) and baked goods from White Stone's own well known, "Out if the Oven" bakery. Some garden items, packaged foods, as well as snacks, were available too. The ample staff is friendly and helpful. Picnic tables, and plenty of parking set off the exterior of the newly opened and busy establishment. If you're wondering what to eat.. or to serve your guests, why not drop by and see what they have to offer! Likely you'll leave with a bag of...
Read more3 strikes and you're out. This store used to be good and people nice to deal work. Went to get a credit owed for lump crab and no one could fine the credit that should have been there. Was accused of maybe I didn't buy the crab since they didn't have the credit. I have done a LOT of shopping at this store. Owner or someone was called and the shopkeeper was told to honor the credit. Wanted some clams that I was told were 50 cents each and wanted 25. This same lame clerk told me she would have to call to open a bag. WHAT !! Never mind Kellum, won't be coming back. As I said this is the third strike in about a year. It's too bad owners cannot rely on the good sense of their employees. I was in there for 30 minutes to get the credit owed and buy a few things. NOT to...
