I had an extremely disappointing experience with weathered wood. We ordered translucent white wash finish pine, and the quality of the wood was far below expectations. Out of at the 360 boards around about 25% were of poor quality and unusable. 60% were warped to the point of struggling to get the seams together and 15% were good quality in total we spent $6,436.70 We reached out to voice our frustrations.
Customer service started off okay, but once we unwrapped the wood and realized just how poor the quality was, things took a turn for the worse. They completely refused to take responsibility, claiming they had "never seen anything like this" and blamed us for the “poor storage” of the wood. Despite sending them multiple pictures and videos showing the warped boards in ideal storage conditions, they continued to accuse us of mishandling it. We emailed back and forth asking for a refund. They said their policy states no refunds after 24 hours. We finally agreed that they would remake the worst boards, and bring in the warped boards to be inspected. So we did, packaged the wood back up hauled the trailer to their shop and met with them face to face. The younger man who had been helping us from the beginning came over and inspected the wood and told my husband “yeah, this is pretty jank’d up” but again at the end of the conversation, still didn’t believe they would send something like this out. Insisting there was a problem of how they were stored. We have done all we can and this place still wont own up to the fact they sold us a bad product. They gave us 53 new boards and last night we opened them up and we still have the same warped problem. Roughly 20% of the boards are bad.
This is not a company I would recommend. Not only was the product subpar, but the lack of accountability and unprofessional attitude in addressing our issue left a bad taste. After seeing similar negative reviews from others, it’s clear this is not a trustworthy or reliable company to do business with. Very disappointed. They are selling and advertising a product that should fit together seamlessly with little effort. This unfortunately was not the case. They also knew this would be a finished space so their product needed to be a certain quality, This again was not the case.
I will attach pictures and videos so you can see everything and hopefully choose a different small business to work with. I can’t stress enough in this review how upset this situation has made us and I would never want anyone else to experience this. Personally what I think is sad is that they clearly don’t care about a returning customer or word of mouth after how bad their...
Read moreTo expand on Andreas previous 1 star reviews. What is detrimental is how we were treated when we brought up issues with poor quality material. We went out of our way to document everything and brought down 53 of the worst boards we had left (there were many more) . When I arrived for them to inspect the wood the older gentleman told me "your lucky you've been dealing the the younger kid cause I would have told you to get lost a long time ago." We walked to the trailer I brought and he condescendingly said "perfect, now I have wood for my ceiling." I've installed thousands of sq. Ft. of tongue and groove and never experienced the poor quality we recieved from weathered wood. We ultimately were able to exchange the 53 boards but even these have issues. Some are warped over an inch in less than 8ft. The older gentleman who acted like this after we took the time to show them what we have been dealing with is why I'm rating this place as 1 star. We will never use this company again. Look at the way the owners respond to poor quality. Instead of owning up they always try and blame the customer, we did not over estimate your product is sub par and to anyone else who has these issues there are consumer protection laws in place for minnesota. It's sad to see no accountability with this place.
In the U.S., the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)—adopted in some form by all 50 states—offers protections under its implied warranty of merchantability (Section 2-314). This means that goods sold by a merchant (like a lumber supplier or hardware store) must be "fit for the ordinary purposes" for which they’re used. Tongue-and-groove pine is typically sold for flooring, paneling, or similar projects, and if 20% of it is so warped it can’t be used, it arguably fails that standard. You could argue the product isn’t merchantable, giving you grounds to demand a refund, replacement, or partial compensation for the unusable portion. There’s also the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose (UCC Section 2-315). If you told the seller you needed the wood for a specific project (e.g., seamless flooring) and they assured you this pine would work, but the warping makes it unusable, that warranty might be...
Read moreGreat folks, great product, great price. I ran across these folks through a marketplace advertisement and thought I'd check them out. When I priced them out they were quite a bit lower than the big box stores and I appreciated being able to work with someone local. We ordered end matched and pre-finished tongue and groove for a project we were working on. Other than a small hiccup when a truck from their supplier was delayed, everything went perfectly. (only set us back about a week) They communicated with me frequently to keep me updated on delivery date and worked around a schedule issue on my end. Delivery was affordable, the delivery guy was friendly and helped us unload into our garage. The finish on the product was much better than I'd seen in big box stores and the quality of the boards was top notch. We'd figured a 10% overage for potential waste and we barely needed that. In fact we had enough leftover to line a closet we hadn't planned on finishing with T&G. I can't recommend them highly enough. The boards were so good, I couldn't have done better if I'd hand picked them myself. I would use these folks again in a...
