The people at the desk are rude , I called ahead and asked about “day pass “ she made sure to discourage me and say well we won’t be doing this for long because we’re getting crowded but you can come today for $20. The statement she made could be true but I wasn’t asking for future I was speaking about today. We have a family season pass to big splash it just so happens that this place isn’t open yet until June 1st. Anyway , we get there at 5:30pm the women at the desk says just so you know the pool can close anytime since it’s raining outside , I said well we were trying to use the indoor pool , she then says oh well even the life guard can close the pool inside too it’s the lifeguards discretions lol . I asked well why ? she said oh I don’t know for whatever reason . ( I felt like she just didn’t want us to swim , ) she asked for ID my husband gave her his ID . She says no I need booth she is over 18 speaking about me at this time it. I said well we will have to go back home to get it , she asked how far do you live I said Southwest , she said oh well you may as well not we’re closing the pool at 6:45 then hurried to correct her statement and said we’ll you can still come back but we’re closing at 6:45. But she also mentioned in the beginning and on the phone it was 7pm , either way I was fine we just wanted to cool off for a little while, I personally did not feel welcomed. Our sons were pretty upset . She really made us feel unwanted and discouraged. I said never mind we won’t wont come back and she kept saying well you can still make it we will let you in and I repeated no we’re not coming back. The other women next to her tapped her arm and said stop Let it go. So for the YMCA anyone that is to ask me about I well say spend your money else where. Big splash season pass is cheaper and for family oriented and friendly staff. Thank you for being rude to me my husband and our children. Great job. I get your job can become stressful maybe , but it’s not fair to take it out on people. She could have been a little more warm and nice be the attitude we...
Read moreJust signed up today. Was excited to finally have a gym with childcare so my husband and i could workout at the same time. Except they have a 10 minute cry policy. If your child cries for 10 minutes they come out and find you and you have to take your child home. Really? Obviously for anyone who knows what having an 18 month old is like it is a new surrounding and they will have to get used to the people and being there, maybe they should actually play with them or interact with them to help take their minds off being away from their parents. I literally got to workout for 15 minutes today then they came out to get me. Which was followed by another woman who had to come get their baby as well...what are we paying you people for childcare for..please get some people who have experience with babies and toddlers. The asian lady was very nice and seemed like she was actually trying..as for the other younger girl in there today she was very rude and didnt even seem to know anything about children...i am very disappointed. Thinking of cancelling already how will i workout if i have to always wonder if after 10 minutes someone will come out to get me...
Read moreI visited here as a quest yesterday, this was my first time coming to the ymca. The facility was nice and clean and you could actively see the maintenance staff changing out trash cans throughout the building. I used the gym area mostly, they had tons of equipment. All different makes and models of treadmills, bikes and elipicals. They had versions with smart screens down to just the basics. They also have a nice two lane walking track that surrounded the fitness area which I thought was a nice touch.
The pool area was a bit crowded as expected, especially since they did away with reservations this year. The indoor pool was dead but open, however the life guards depending on who was on duty could be a attitudy and forcing people out of the indoor pool to the outdoor pool which I feel like was unnecessary.
The majority of the general staff was great and they seemed very friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience...
