DG Market — Local services in Jackson

I started going to this one over the others because it feels more clean and I like the market option. Most of my experiences have been pleasant until today. Kenzie was nice and tang all my items up and I realized my phone had died and I couldn't unlock my card...ugh! But no problem, I always keep a stash so I went to pull out the$100 bill I had stashed and it wasn't there. Oi! Problem! So I went out to my truck to get more. When I came back in, she was helping someone and there was one other lady waiting. No biggie, I'll wait till she's done with them. (I'm thinking she suspended my sale, like other stores do, so I'm standing to her right, like I've done with others). She let's me stand there like 5 min and 3 more ppl get in line, THEN she says to me, you need to go to the end of the line. I was like, what? I was going to wait till after her(and I pointed to the second lady that I would've been behind when I came in) and she said well I don't think that's fair to the other ppl. Huh? They could see me standing there. It was obvious I was already there. She said well I have to re-ring up all your stuff. I moved to the end of the line, which is now FIVE ppl, and said well it would've been nice if you'd've informed me of that sooner! Geez! At the time, she was the only checkout open, maybe 2 min of me standing there at the end, another lady comes up behind me with a full cart, 30 secs later a girl comes and opens another checkout and takes the the lady behind me that's only been there 30 seconds! These girls need training in courtesy. The second cashier should have taken the 3rd person in our line. I don't usually get so upset but I did today. The rudeness was...

I am giving this place a 5 star review based on my First and only experience thus far!! A homeless man was shopping for can goods but somehow misplaced a bag so he went back in to repurchase them. He did not ask for free he simply placed the exact same items on the counter and the clerk said you just bought these items. He stated he misplaced them and just wanted to buy more. A customer from behind me whom I'm almost positive was an off the clock employee came up and purchased the items for the man out of his own pocket. I noticed this man had a VA card and it honestly saddened me but was heartwarming at the same time that the employee's were so polite and caring :) people do take notice to kindness even when you think they aren't...

Fantastic place to shop, very friendly employees and also they keep this Dollar General cleaning and stocked. I enjoy shopping at the Dollar General because they have everything that you need for a good price and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, the friendly folks that work at this Dollar General always has a smile on their face can always greet you when you come in and they always have a positive attitude.
