Teton Excursions - Yellowstone Tours — Local services in Jackson

I found Teton Excursions through an Internet search and read nothing but good reviews about Aaron and Emily. I began making our plans to visit the Tetons and Yellowstone early this year and found Aaron to be extremely responsive to my initial and subsequent inquiries. We planned a four-day experience of the two National Parks and wanted a float trip on the Snake river included with the tours. Aaron made all of the arrangements, including all lodging that fit our schedule and time frame. He made adjustments for our health concerns and purchased oxygen bottles for use at the high altitudes in both parks. Because of weather issues we were delayed in arriving in Jackson and Aaron picked us up at the airport and got us started on our visit to Grand Teton National Park without skipping a beat. His comfortable Ford van had plenty of seating for our party of five and it allows for different configurations for larger parties, luggage and the supplies and equipment. After the float trip and some additional touring of the Tetons, we relaxed at the Huff House, an excellent place to stay in Jackson. The rooms were very comfortable and pleasant. A hearty breakfast was served by wonderful staff, preparing us for our full day of travel and touring in Yellowstone. We had three full days in the park and stayed overnight in West Yellowstone followed by Silver Gate. Aaron's recommendations for our evening meals were spot on and he made prior arrangements so we were able to get seating without a wait. Aaron provides breakfast items when not part of the lodging services. The lunches included gourmet sandwiches and other delicious selections from local providers and no one came away hungry from our picnics at several picturesque spots along the tour. He provided multiple choices for hydration and encouraged all to keep up our liquid intake along the way. His choice of snacks more than satisfied all in our party. Sunblock and bug spray was available, as well as wide brimmed hats for sun protection. Aaron knows the best places and timing for wildlife viewing and stopped anywhere we wanted to take pictures. He provided multiple pairs of optics and set up a viewing scope through which we saw mountain goats, buffalo, pronghorn antelope, osprey, and eagle and even a wolf. He took pictures of the distance shots, as well as other sights he captured in addition to our own photos. Aaron is entertaining for young and old, bringing his depth of knowledge of natural and historical facts and supplemented the information with audio and video additions. While visiting geysers, fumeroles and mud pots he provided a hand held thermal monitoring to allow our grandson to check the temperature of those features. Aaron is very sensitive to environmental practices and observation of park rules and advised us of anything that would put our safety or that of the wildlife in danger. I could go on but, put simply, this was our best domestic tour of our lifetime. It was absolute magic - Teton Excursions crafted an experience for us as well as a vacation. It was everything we could have imagined and more. In a miracle of timing, we suddenly found ourselves with 2 weeks during which all three of my boys (19, 21 and 22) were free. A tiny window of opportunity in the middle of exams, internships and jobs with very little flexibility. "A trip to see wolves when we can" was my graduation present to the middle boy. After a lot of research, I reached out to Teton Excursions with an impossible mission, to do our best to see wolves - and the rest of Yellowstone and Grand Teton - with just a few weeks' notice. We told them about ourselves and how we like to travel, and somehow they managed to create the perfect trip. We put ourselves in their hands, and they delivered with the perfect guide who met us both with the seriousness with which we take the wilderness and wildlife and the silliness that is inherent in hanging with our crew. Not to mention s'mores over an open firepit at night!!! They helped us manage our expectations and then exceeded them. And then there are the realities and difficulties of travel these days - Teton Excursions erased the stress and took care of us every step of the way. East Coast totally shut down to air travel? They kept adjusting on the Montana end so we could focus on our flight changes with no stress at all, and met us with perfectly adjusted plans, and smiles and joy when we finally arrived. Serious food allergies? They made sure we got the groceries and supplies we needed and could picnic and feast with pleasure. Disparate hiking ability? They gave us daily hikes that we enjoyed at all levels. Even when one kid got sick and we had to stagger our travel leaving Jackson - they helped us through that, too. And yes, we saw many animals and the splendors of the parks - and a lot of wolves, too! Sheer perfection. We just spent the most unforgettable three days with Aaron from Teton Excursions exploring both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, and it was truly the trip of a lifetime! From cozy blankets on early morning drives, to delicious picnic lunches in breathtaking locations, to snacks and drinks and binoculars always ready in the vehicle, Aaron went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. He truly thought of everything, allowing us to sit back, relax, and fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of these incredible parks. Beyond being a top-notch guide, Aaron is simply a wonderful person. Our conversations were easy and engaging, and by the end of the trip, we felt like we had gained a lifelong friend. Traveling all the way from Australia, we could have easily felt overwhelmed by the planning, but Aaron and Emily made the entire experience seamless and stress-free from the very first email we sent.
