I would give The Loree 0 stars if I could.
TLDR: if you really want to live around this area, I highly suggest that you look at the neighboring apartment called Steele Creek. I have many reasons as to why I'm suggesting this and I'll list them below.
The Loree falsely advertises itself as a luxury apartment. After 3 years of living there let me assure you that there is absolutely nothing luxurious about it.
Let me ramble on but in a more systematic manner. Here we go.
5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE STEELE CREEK OVER THE LOREE
In fact, just a couple of years back cops had to be called because inebriated non-residents were wreaking havoc while watching a soccer match at the clubhouse. Police had to be called because that rowdy group of hooligans refused to leave even after being asked to do so by the management.
Security If you value the safety of yourself and your loved ones I strongly urge you to consider Steele Creek. This is because Steel Creek requires security clearance at multiple points (at entrance and building) before being granted entry. This is a far cry from The Loree's lackadaisical sense of security - where a total stranger could end up at your doorstep just by jumping over a low, un-monitored gate.
Cleanliness Sometimes I'm still haunted by the stench of dog poo creeping up my nostrils. Admittedly, this isn't entirely The Loree's fault but the management should be blamed for a lack of trying. Despite numerous continuous complaints of dog owners not cleaning up after their pets the management did little to nothing at all in addressing the issue. Go ahead ... Take a tour around the place. Take a stroll along the grass by the kerbs. I'd be shocked if you didn't find doggie waste here and there.
Hygiene The Loree is probably the only so-called luxury apartment that doesn't clean and sanitize the insides of its building as often as it should. I can guarantee you there's only one building that gets constant TLC. It's the one adjacent to the leasing office - the same building that houses its showroom. You know ... first impressions and all that. All other buildings are neglected with reckless abandon. The walls are stained, the floors filthy, the smell funky --- everything just looks dated and doesn't at all represent how luxury living should look like. It's a picture of dread.
Premium Rates for Subpar Service I don't know about you guys but when I'm forking out $1,700 a month I expect all the promised amenities. Instead coffee and cups at the clubhouse run out within the first 10 days of the month--- every single month over the past 3 years ... and I wish I was exaggerating. Also, when you head to the gym I highly recommend that you bring your own towel because chances are that they are out. Why? Because they don't have the basic decency of replenishing even that on a daily basis.
Summary
In a nutshell, take your money elsewhere. Take it next door and get your money's worth because this establishment doesn't deserve it. And here comes the icing on the cake. Let's pretend that you decided to ignore all my above warnings and proceeded to make Loree your home, be prepared to fork out astronomical fees when you've finally decided to seek pastures new and move out. I was charged about $400 to get the carpet replaced. Keep in mind that I own a heavy duty deep cleaning steam carpet cleaner that I used to tend to the carpet every week without fail in all areas of the house because of my severe allergy to dust and pollen. Yet these unscrupulous fiends have the gall to charge me for a carpet replacement.
I sincerely hope this advice helps many of you make a wise choice in choosing your next place to call...
Read more**I am totally recalling my review......However still letting it be there so that its available for viewing to understand what Drastically change This is a beautiful place no doubt....However there are as many people as their are dogs ( No offense I am a dog lover myself).....People lack basic etiquettes of cleaning their dog poop....Not once, not twice, but very frequently.... its become so unbearable that the moment we open our front gate for porch it literally is a foul small of animal wastes....The deteriorated conditions are such that the grass on our front patch is actually pale yellow and dried.........We have literally had allergies from the fumes at times.... Moreover our 2nd floor residents have big terrier dogs and practically there is no time for them to go off whether its 8pm, 9,10,11, 12 am,1,2,3 4,5 am....It seems like a stampede with loud barks....*Our 9 year old feels so scared that he has started sleeping in our room now very frequently as he gets scared at night.....Have met up with leasing department many times....Rest is History.....I hope someone helps us.... I feel very sad to state that we might just look for better options in neighbouring communities.....................
.....This is such a great place to live. Moved here about 6 months back and we couldnt have been a happier lot. This place filled up super quick in front of us.....The only drawback is that there are too many dog owners now in the community who are least bothered about the community hygiene( Dont get me wrong , we luv dogs and may get one soon). Front side of complex 12 seems an all time favorite area where its a common site of dog poop not been picked and other odours. The other big problem is that we are on 1st floor. Our 2nd floor neighbours have 2 dogs. There is practically no period hour when the heavy thumping can start.
That said, Neighbours are very cordial and we are glad that we have such an incredible and friendly leasing staff, Specially Jennifer and Roxy !....Immensely helpful ! ( Taylor and Megan are great too 😊) however most of my interactions have been with Jennifer and Roxy
I am Still giving a 5 star....Just keeping in mind the great leasing staff, the overall apartment and community standard and the exclusive club....The hygiene and living style can only be governed to a limited extent and it is each individuals...
Read moreMost communication towards dog owners has been negative since new management has taken over. Dog parks are also not well maintained, although I'm sure they'll say it's due to weather. Unless the weather has prevented them from being maintained for a year, that's not a valid excuse.
They have recently threatened a litany of changes to fees and are now saying that they will be potentially implementing DNA testing on dogs. My main issue with this is that it's not being called out in communication that they can't do this until they have us sign policy addendums at renewals. It's misinformation at best and bullying at worst.
They are also now encouraging residents to photograph one another not picking up after their animals. Not only is this impractical, as you would need to confirm that the person in question is in the photograph and that the dog was not picked up after the photo was taken, but it underlines a clear disconnect between management and their tenants. I pick up after my dog, but I'm incredibly uncomfortable with the thought that people are being offered $25 to photograph other people in the complex.
Finally, when I brought up my concerns to management, they were extremely short with my wife and I. When I told them that they were handling this poorly and that I felt like they were essentially rewarding residents for spying on each other, they were "sorry that I felt that way." Their communication with their residents is unbelievably abrasive, regardless of pet ownership.
My guess is that they'll respond to this post and become extremely defensive and deny that they knew they were "making me feel this way".
Honestly, this place is too expensive to put up with the poor service. Your money is better spent elsewhere. I won't be renewing here.
Update: I have since moved out and apparently they are now asking residents to take pictures of people who do not have their trash cans in by 9 AM. It appears warnings are given out on first offense and $25 fines are levied for repeat offenses. I figured this was relevant and established a pattern of the complex asking residents to report...
