One of my all time favorite waterfalls! Which is saying something because I'm obsessed with waterfalls and base almost every trip on whether or not there's a great waterfall! The climb is definitely a bit difficult because its steep and mostly rocks. But really takes less than 10 minutes. I saw people with kids doing it! Just make sure you have decent shoes - I had keds and it was a mess.
The water is really cold so try to aim for a good afternoon time when the sun is out if you're wanting to swim! Be prepared for crowds.
Parking is super easy. I parked with a trailer and didn't have any problems. Definitely download the map beforehand just in case you lose service.
A little after you start the trail there will be an overlook. The waterfall trail is to the left of that. There are plenty of signs, but I wasn't sure when I arrived and some local told me to go the other way lol. That hike was...
Read moreWARNING FOR BEGINNERS: Me and my family went today to Foster Falls and it was breath taking - yes!, super fun - yes!, absolutely terrifying - YES! Foster Falls itself is beautiful beyond anything I’ve seen in a while but getting down there is extremely difficult if you are not complete sure in your footing. It is STEEP STEEP STEEP! And very physically challenging for novices and/or overweight/out of shape persons (speaking as all of these). Going up feels safer but is quite a workout! Overall it was totally worth it but if you have small kids and are not used to doing this all the time I would skip this activity until everyone gets in shape and gets older! We took our dog and as far as getting down our dog did well but our poor 13 year old dog had trouble getting up so we had to carry some of the way. This is your warning: it’s not some walk in the park, this is difficult but so beautiful and worth...
Read moreSUCH A BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL! We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful views! The overlook is only a few minutes from the parking lot, but with it being summer time it was hard to see because of the leaves on the trees. So to see the waterfall this time of year walking to the bottom is the best way. The trail to the base of the fall is a simple one and well worth it! It was maybe 10 minutes, but we had smaller children with us. The trail was very clean. We are not experienced “hikers” at all and did fine. There were lots of people swimming and lots of dog walkers too so I’m assuming that’s allowed as well. We will definitely be going back and I recommend it if you’re looking for an easy to access waterfall with...
