The prices at this store are similar to the ones in Dubai and possibly on the international space station. Unbelievable that they charge so much for the seriously grade B even C produce. They like Winn Dixie in lake Park also use the get you to buy more by deception. I have never been in a store that charges $8.00 for 1lb of butter. 4 sticks. They have the pick 5 or pick 10 for $x.xx amount. You'll find that most of the produce is packaged. Like broccoli for instance. I love broccoli. But I take my knife and remove the stalks. I refuse to pay $2 or more a lb for stalks I won't eat. The store has cleaned it self up a little the two or three times I visited. But a $5 rotisserie chicken from Walmart will cost you $8 here. So you see folks your wasting a lot of hard earned $ shopping here especially if you don't qualify for assistance. I would love to see a smallmart ( Walmart) produce store come into this town and provide better produce for less money and a happier staff. Yes that's right the staff at Hitchcock's admitted they don't shop there either. So if they can't even afford the over priced food with a...
Read moreLast Sunday went to the deli to get a couple of lunches. I always smile and am always polite with the ladies. I do say yes and no mam , please and thank you. The younger woman who waited on me did not reciprocate in the least. I was met with a stoney stare and had to ask for the bread which is included in the meal. She put the roll and piece of corn bread in a small container and had to smash it down to put the lid on it. Never once did I feel that my business was appreciated, never received a simple thank you. Not the first time folks, this seems to be the normal business plan for Hitchcocks. There is one person who has worked in that store for over forty years and he has always been friendly and welcoming, always willing to help and I don't want to shock you but he actually smiles when he sees me. I only shop Hitchcocks when I am in a tight spot. Our local hardware store always greets you and they thank you for your purchase and every now and then they even tell me that they appreciate my business. To the management of Hitchcocks, at least be grateful we are...

It's the only one in town so you don't have a choice but to buy there unless you want to drive 20 miles to walmart. their meat is not fresh when they say it is. their delli cooks their chicken to long and is always dried out. The a couple girls in the deli that is the most rude and they just throw your meat in the paper so you get home, you have to straighten it out in order to eat it then she gave me 1 1/2 lbs when I...
