This was a really fun store to visit! And I normally wouldn't think that about a little country store, but we enjoyed it! It's 3 floors of a mishmash of things - groceries, coffee bar, deli, baked goods, children's toys, wines, local items, gifts, clothing, etc.... and then OREO the cat! I thought it was a toy at first, but my husband said, "I think that cat is alive!" and sure enough we had a nice little petting session with the Jay Country Store mascot! She is an older girl (I'm assuming gender based on her small size and meek demeaner, but I could be wrong!) and she has her own table with a blanket downstairs right in the middle of the room! I'm guessing she just lays there all day and enjoys being pet by random strangers and cat-lovers like us! Anyways, besides the fun items to browse and the sweetest cat to pet, the store has some amazing wooden statues and creations to enjoy - Bears, a Native American, eagles and more - outside all around the property. Read moreThis is the coolest weirdest store ever. The folks welcome everyone like family. It features beer, food, a delicious, restaurant, liquor store, bar (closed for Covid), high end bike shop, souvenirs, and a bunch of other stuff. It's far superior to the provisions shop at Jay Peak. Prices are higher a bit vs. Driving 40 minutes to Newport Shaws. The ladies at the register feature a wealth of local knowledge and reminded me of my time in Tennessee. A stop here can fill your stomach and brighten your day. We chose to have breakfast here vs. Jay Peak for a change. They did torch my boys pancakes but it's a simple mistake and he powered through it. Please help support this local business through the Rona. It's worth the trip and allow yourself some time to slide through and check...
Read moreThis is a fantastic country store. They are the one stop shop in the heat of Jay. They have gas to fuel your vehicle and food to fuel you. They have great coffee and excellent breakfast options, from French toast and pancakes to bacon egg and cheese and breakfast burritos. The deli does subs and sandwiches. They also have provisions like bread and milk as well as beer, wine, and alcohol. The best part is all the creative gifts and art. They truly have some great crafts and gifts. Wind chimes, bells, soap, pictures, trail signs, hats, mittens, gloves, t-shirts, stickers and much more. The store has great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff that welcome all. This is a must stop if you're...
