Hagerman National Fish Hatchery (IDFG) — Local services in Jerome

This place used to be AMAZING! We would take all of our out-of-State family and friends here to give them a taste of Southern Idaho. We could see AND touch sturgeon, go into the nursery and see the millions of baby steelhead, and more.

But now you can't do any of these things. The sturgeon are gone, there's a fence around their pond, and the baby fish are no longer accessible. This is the Cadillac of fish hatcheries compared to the handful we've visited in the past. Still only gets three stars, though, because, well, its still just a fish hatchery. Definitely call ahead before making the drive. We were there in early June and there were absolutely no fish(and no water!) in the runs. Kind of disappointing, and the state hatchery up the road...
